I take that as "I have to make some sort of appearance I guess"

To me there is mix messages in this appearances:

1: He appearances but only at the end of the rally. He stays long enough to make a statement and then leaves as quickly as he came.

2: He mentions Akron by name, but not the city of Cleveland or even the state of Ohio.

3: He says "Everything he does is for THIS (meaning Akron) city." Why not say that about the city that you know play in....like Cleveland.

All in all, he needed to be there, but he didn't seem like he wanted to be there. Almost as if he felt, out of loyalty to Akron, that he needed to take time out of his business schedule (which happens to be the most stressful time of his life) and pop in and say hello to the folks who made this rally.

More Lebron competition!

CLEVELAND -- A minor league baseball team is taking a swing at signing LeBron James.

The Lake Erie Crushers plan to offer James a maximum contract under Frontier League rules on "Keep LBJ in the C-L-E Night" next week. The team said the contract is worth $1,600 a month and will include a host family so the NBA superstar won't have the "stress of a potential commute" from the Akron." Also available will be a luxury suite.

The Crushers will wear Cavaliers-themed jerseys June 30 and each player will wear No. 6 to honor James' switch from No. 23. The team is renaming its park LeBron James Field at All Pro Freight Stadium for the game. Anyone named LeBron gets free tickets.

James becomes a free agent the next day.

Broussard running story that Bulls could trade Deng and #17 to Clippers for the #8.

We still wouldn't have enough to get Lebron and Bosh. You'd have to clear two out of the three of Johnson, Gibson, #8, assuming Hinrich can't be moved.

RealGM has picked this up also.

I bet that Hinrich could be moved if you added Gibson as a sweetner. Tiny salary relative to his production. He had a PER of over 16 last season.

Who might the Bulls take at 8? Babbitt? Too early for Xavier Henry?

Who would we be looking at taking with the #8 pick?

Maybe Xavier Henry or Paul George would be my guesses.

Oh man, that would be awesome.

Don't want Babbitt. George would work. Maybe Udoh if he's still there?

Holy crap would that be a good deal for the Bulls. At that point, it's easy to get rid of two out of those three, ala Phoenix.

At that point, I really wouldn't care who we'd pick at #8. If we can unload Deng's contract for that, I'd be ecstatic.

Do the same with Hinrich and call it a draft.

DO IT!

What about Bosh's statement the other day that he has to be The Man wherever he goes and not just a complimentary piece? Was that him just blowing smoke or would he really not want to play with LBJ and Rose?

Maybe we'd turn around and use it in a sign and trade?

Gibson and the #8 guy to Toronto in a sign and trade for Bosh. Then you sign LeBron and celebrate.

As a side note, if this doesn't happen within the next few hours it's probably dead. 99% of the time you hear are things that were discussed and dismissed already unless they are about to break.

I think he makes a great point. I think this proposal has already set sail, and I don't see this deal getting done.

Not true. I dont think they could announce this trade till July 1 cause of the salary cap. Pretty sure thats what was said on RealGm

I don't understand, trades happen all the time before, during, and after the draft.

Since posting the Bulls/Clippers trade rumor, I've spoken with officials from both clubs. Some thought it made a lot of sense, but the one with the most juice said it's not going to happen. He said the Bulls have talked with several clubs, including the Clippers, but that in the end they will end up keeping their 17th pick. Posturing? We'll see.

This is what I was talking about.

RealGM Note: This trade could not be completed on draft night due to the Clippers needing to use their cap space to absorb Deng's contract.
