I've heard nothing further with regard to IU transfer, has that talk quieted down?

I heard Pritchard mentioned awhile ago but blew it off, cause it makes no damn sense. Bawa I could see if he had an inflated opinion of his abilities, but he was always going to be a project, and if he was expecting to play much as a freshman, somebody was putting some stuff in his head.

Is the assumption that these transfers are all due to on the court issues, or is this more of an Iowa situation where the connection isn't there?

Apparently, Marshall turned down Iowa's offer for an interview as well.

I have to wonder how all of these reports are coming out. They have a private company making calls trying to gauge interest in the position. Nobody is getting offered an interview (let alone the job) if there is not mutual interest. Plus, I would hope like hell that they wouldn't have interest in Marshall to begin with.

What I think happened is that the search committee contacted everyone Iowa may be interested in. They talk to the coach or the agent and say something like "Hey would you be interested in discussing the Iowa job for somewhere in the neighborhood of $___ million?" The coach then says yes or no. If they say yes, the search firm passes it on to Barta and they decide who they want to interview.

At least that's what people who know how these things work (reporters, coaches, people in the AD) say. Supposedly the number they threw out to Marshall was $1.2M which is what they paid Lickliter. He's currently making around $1M at Wichita and returns most of his team so he said he wasn't interested.

I'm pretty sure they can go over $2M for the right guy, I just don't know if they can find him. At this point I'd be happy with Barbee. The way things are going I might rather have Lavin, Chris Collins or Steve Forbes than some guy like Jim Boylen.

UK just rec'd a commit from Turkish PF Enes Kanter, who according to Rivals would've been a top 25 recruit had he been on the radar last Fall.

While UK will definitely lose Wall, Cousins, Patterson and possiblly Bledsoe or even Orton, everything will hinge on Brandon Knight as the next one and done star PG. I think it's likely UK will get Knight and KU will get Selby.

I think Josh Selby ends up at Tennessee, and if so the Vols begin 2010-11 in the Top 10. A class of Selby, Tobias Harris, McRae, and Golden is #2 or 3 in the country.

PG- Selby, Goins

SG- Tatum, McRae, Golden

SF- Hopson, Woolridge

PF- Harris, Maymon

C- Williams, Hall

Where does Tennessee drop to when half the team gets found with unregistered guns?

Depends on whether or not they curbstomp Kansas with their 2nd team again, I guess.

hardly a curbstomp.

I think we get Selby.

I was behind the bench that Saturday and heard Pearl tell assistant Tony Jones "I really wanna get Steve's (Bruce's son) picture in SI this week, so let's play him more than we should. Also, that skinny white walkon (Jones interrupts with "McBee?"), let's let him play some too. I want to keep this one close."

Otherwise, it would have been at least a 30 point game. True story.

In all honesty, I do think Selby chooses UT, but KU would not surprise me in the least. If he wants a shot at a title in his one and done college career, I think UT offers a better chance next season. I'm not saying that Tennessee is a better program, just that joining that class and that returning roster could give UT its best team in school history. They *could* have a similar team to this year's Kentucky team.

My guess would be court issues. Crean has at least 3 different bigs on his recruiting radar for next season and these are mostly recent developments (Abraham for example). Our frontcourt situation is just such a mess outside of Watford so I think he is going for immediate help there. And if we do end up adding say 2 big guys to go with Oladipo and Sheehey then obviously a scholarship(s) has to open up. Allegedly Crean had private meetings with 3 players in the last week which people presume to mean one or more of those kids might be leaving? I don't believe every rumor I hear though.

Personally I would make Doc pay Jeremiah's way, lol. It isn't like he can't afford it. That would free up a scholarship. :-))

Pritchard would be better served playing at a MAC school or something IMO. He just seems overmatched in Big Ten play although he has his moments like his first half against Purdue in the first IU-PU game this season.

He turned down millions from overseas to play for Cal. Wonder how this one ends?

I stand by it: Elston > Watford.
