Again, if the Big 10 gets Nebraska setting off a chain reaction which concludes with Texas in the Pac 10 (and Texas A&M, for that matter), I'm going to be furious.

Well, there is the rumor that they're inviting UT and aTm. Would you want UT if it meant Tech had to come with them and aTm?

watching your school die right in front of your eyes is a crappy feeling.

I can't even imagine watching this happen without the slim hope I have. Apparently Alden and the whole Mizzou trust have been extremely calm and haven't said a word to the media. I really hope they have an ace up their sleeve.

I bet KU doesn't get screwed over terribly, there's too many schools in the already pliable Big East and ACC for them to be left out on the whole.

Flying out to the Big East to play cut-rate football isn't ideal, but I guess I have to hope for it. It's that or watching both programs die because we're taking on San Deigo State and New Mexico.

Either way, hello mid-major status. The school will take a huge hit academically too. huge.

First, where did the button to reply to a specific post go to? I can only post at the bottom of a thread.

TT, that's a very difficult question. I do not want TT (hehe) though. Not sure how I'd weigh having to take TT to get Texas and A&M. If Notre Dame is really a possibility, I think I'd put Nebraska/Missouri/Notre Dame ahead of a group with freakin' TT. Yuck. And I think everyone here knows how much I've wanted Texas.

I would. I'd take UTEP if it was somehow the only way to get UT.

The hack screwed up some of the forum styles, so some of the buttons are still not working for some of the styles. Just change it around.

The board is still having issues after being hacked a few days ago. The buttons are still there. They're just invisible for some reason. Move your mouse over where the buttons usually are. That, or you can change your board layout to subsilver where everything looks right.

agreed, if an ACC or big east team bolts for the big ten i could see them grabbing kansas. they'd be a good fit in a basketball-first conference. geographically it doesn't make sense, but kansas isn't really that much farther than marquette or depaul.

kansas state and iowa state must really be worthless; those are the schools that nobody wants.

Thanks for the help guys.

Maybe I was a bit hasty. . . I'm tempted to agree that even UTEP (OK, OK, just TT) would be worthwhile to get Texas. I could be swayed either way.

Finally, snood, I seriously doubt Kansas is left in some junk conference. Not sure where they'd go -- and it may not geographically make tons of sense -- but they're not going to be somewhere good.

UTEP would change their name back to Texas Western for a chance to go to the Big 10.

KU is pretty screwed......I don't know about academics, but in terms of athletics, they don't bring much with football, while no one wants their basketball team to come in and destroy their conference

This is all ridiculous. I want to fast-forward and find out if I know what I'm going to be doing during college football seasons or not.

as long as they stay in a bcs conference they wouldn't destroy anybody.

I really haven't been paying much attention to how this whole thing has progressed, but why did the Big 10 want to expand? They were already making tons of money with the new TV station. Do they want an even number of teams to get a football playoff like the SEC and Big 12 did?

Tons and tons of money is more than tons of money.

im just gonna have to hope Congress lowers the anti-trust boom on this.

i dont see why they would. it looks to be really just kansas getting screwed, and the texas schools maybe flying a little farther east or west than they used to.

lol at the sec president saying "the sec is what the other conferences are striving to be."

how so? lousy adademically? corrupt athletically? yeah the sec has good sports but some conferences don't embrace the win/cheat at all costs mentality.

On Sportscenter, Chip Brown of orangebloods.com says Texas President told their coaches that he did everything he could to keep the Big XII together and was unsuccessful. Says all six teams offered by the PAC 10 (Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Colorado) will go to the PAC 10 and the Big 12 is dead.

EDIT: Here's a story about it: http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1092612
