Yeah, Mizzou is totally going to get left in the dust once this comes to a conclusion. At least we can team up with KU, KSU and ISU to form the Piece of [expletive] Conference

I can't wait for the conference football championship and basketball tournament.

A source close to the Nebraska Board of Regents told Orangebloods.com Wednesday Nebraska regents have informally agreed to leave for the Big Ten and will make a formal announcement on Friday.

It would be a little funny if the Big Ten were to respond with "Wait a minute...we didn't invite Nebraska."

I'm sure they could take Baylor too.

I'm still wondering why everyone is allergic to KU in this.

Cause KU brings nothing to the table. I'd rather have Missouri

Money. There aren't enough people in Kansas to dramatically shift profits, and their football team isn't exactly rich in tradition.

Women's basketball.

Well if Nebraska joins the Big 10 and ends its rivalries with OU and CU maybe the Big 10/Pac 10 will realize that defending the Rose Bowl match up from reasonable playoff scenarios is outdated as well.

Neither are Mizzou, Oklahoma State, or Texas Tech. KU at least gets TV sets with their basketball team.

The Big XII damn near killed the OU/NU rivalry already.

If a school like KU is allowed into the CIC the University of Chicago's particle accelerator will explode.

lol

KU is a better school than Missouri. Rated higher in almost every rating guide, much larger endowment. If you can live w Missouri, you should be able to live KU from an academic standpoint.

But not KU + KSU.

Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas all have bigger populations. It's not about people in Montana watching because Kansas is playing, the BTN gets money based on the population of the state where the school is. The history is Nebraska's saving grace.

This made my day.

Dan Beebe: Hey, guys, what's up?

Texas: Dan, go back to your computer, keep playing Minesweeper, and we'll call you when we're done.

Beebe: Sure thing, boss.

Texas Tech: That was kind of harsh, don't you think?

Texas: He should be thankful he still has a job. We used a cardboard cutout of him a few weeks ago at a function with a tape player attached to its back looping random, non-committal statements, and no one knew it wasn't him until Baylor tried to hand him a plate of barbecued chicken and it dropped to the floor.

No offense to SSR, but I highly doubt his opinion is weighed significantly in this process. :P

I was gonna say. Kansas has 1 million more people in its state than Nebraska (2.8 M to 1.8 M). The difference is Nebraska football is rich and full of tradition, while its basketball team is not, and for Kansas its reversed. Football outweighs basketball big time in the discussion so Nebraska has merit, and Kansas does not.
