Let's see if Hasselbeck will play. Mora made it sound like he would.

Even if he does play we should beat Seattle, and it really shouldnt be that close. Their run D is pathetic.

So is the Bears run O.

Why am I not surprised that you responded with that. 16 run attempts today, thats it. Our running game being non existent has been as much Turners fault as Fortes/Oline. Forte has 2 carries in the 1st half today. Pitt defends the rush well so it makes sense putting the ball in Cutlers hands, but against Seattle it should be all Forte.

I think we come out if this with a win, but playing in Seattle is never an easy proposition. I'll say it will be a little higher scoring than the last 2 games. Bears pick up a 30-24 victory and head home to play Detroit at 2-1. What a difference a couple of missed FGs by the other guys and a made FG by your guy makes. We could be looking at this game as a desperate must win game to get back on track. But now we should be thinking 3-1.

You're completely ignoring the Green Bay game where he had 25 carries for 55 yards. That exact same Green Bay defense playing at home again, allowed Ced Benson to go for 141 on 27 carries.

Forte has 38 carries for 84 yards this year, a 2.2 ypc average. While Pittsburgh is very good against the run, the Titans at least went 23 carries for 85 yards.

I can tell you think Turner is Satan but how can you say blame is equally his when Forte is having nowhere to run and getting stuffed so much? Especially in that Green Bay game when they gave him 25 carries.

Seattle just got gashed yesterday on 2 huge runs for 159 yards. Steven Jax had a fairly average day against them last week.

At any rate that was a really good win for the Bears yesterday. A 2-1 start would be fairly impressive.

the AP game recap for yesterday starts with "Jay Cutler finally lived up to his hype....."

Finally? You mean it took all the way until GAME TWO?

I hate sports journalists....

i'm getting a little anxious to see the run game get going as well, particularly after seeing what the Bengals did against GB. i'm not really too worried yet, but i probably will be if they aren't able to get Forte going against Seattle.

Anxious is a good word for me too.

There are so many new parts on that OLine though. Sometimes it can take a bit to start working well together. I don't think the pass protection has been all that stellar either, frankly. But better than the run blocking.

If they can't get any kind of ground game going in the next two weeks (Seattle, and then Detroit).......I will begin to panic about it.

I would expect a plodding run attack on the road from Turner. Because it's a tough road environment, I'm a little concerned about this one. But we should win by 10.

They should win by a couple, not 10. I'm guessing the Bears will be favored by 1 if Hasselback plays, or 4 if he's out.

Gashing a defense for 5+ yards/carry is one good way to neutralize a loud environment.

That's what I'm thinking. This is the week to get the run game going. Then continue it next week against Detroit. That's my dream scenario.

The short pass was the run game yesterday.

Great gameplan to attack that defense.

We were throwing a lot and scoring points early in 06 and people were worried about the run game then, too. The run game will open up eventually.

ESPN says broken rib for Hasselbeck, status for Sunday still uncertain.

Obviously this is based on nothing concrete, but I'd be surprised if he plays.

Per Adam Schefter's twitter

Hasselbeck has a fractured rib. Unsure about next week against Chicago.

EDIT - I really need to refresh before I post things.

Hasselback playing hurt of Hasselback missing the game sounds like a win-win for the Bears.

Yep. If he does play, hopefully a healthy Alex Brown or Wale can make it a short day for him.

I'm thinking of going up to San Francisco for the Bears-49ers game in November but it's a freaking Thursday game which makes it difficult to plan.
