i figured that was the case, they just want people in there to buy drinks...but damn, i want a place like that down here...i see why you pm'd the name of the place now, haha.

Yeah. Same concept as banks giving away free toasters, car dealers offering up donuts and coffee to people walking their lot, etc...Anything to get them to come to your place instead of the competition. At the same time, you are rewarding the loyal customers as well.

If you aren't getting that where you are, sounds like they are all doing well enough that they don't need promos. Of course, where you are it's after noon, I think. Trying to get people in to drink at 9 and 10am in the morning is a little more difficult. It took me awhile to adjust. If it weren't for Bloody Mary's, it would be a real tough sell for a bar to even carry Sunday Ticket. They pretty much get all the Charger games.

Getting back on topic.....

How do the Packers and Steelers defensive lines rate with the rest of the league?

Is our O-Line better than last year at this stage, or were we dealing with some strong defenses and it's too early to tell?

College football starting at 9 AM would be so incredible. I'd also probably never make it out on a Saturday night...which I guess would allow me start watching NFL at 10 on Sunday.

For a single guy, it would be awesome. I pick my battles since I'm married. I don't watch much college football, but I'll watch every NFL game. I'll sneak a few peaks at big college games and on a rare occasion, I'll watch the whole game, but I don't get to see my favorite team way out here (Illinois), so it's not all that heartbreaking.

I was just in Hawaii this past month. Imagine living there as a sports fan. It's 5 hours behind Chicago time. That's a 7am start for NFL and 6am for college. Not only that, the 7pm night games are over by 5pm. How awesome would it be to get home from your 9-5 job to see that Monday night football is already over?

I know, you live in Hawaii. Who cares? :yahoo:

Man. If Hasselbeck, Houshmandzadeh, and Jones all sit out, the Seahawks shouldn't even bother showing up.

Oh and I'm not sure if this has been brought up yet but my roommate told me he heard Urlacher's injury could be career-ending. He didn't say where he heard it, but has anyone else heard this?

If Tatupu sits out also, then the Hawks would have no LBers of note playing other then Curry. So if all four sit out, then there is no excuse for the Bears not to win and put up big numbers.

I think that "report" was in the context that if Urlacher tried to come back to soon (as in this year), he could have serious nerve damage and that could end his career. But if he waits to come back until next year, his injury is not career ending.

Is Matt Forte not one of the top RBs in the NFC and NFL now after two games?

I don't think he ever was. He was one of the best fantasy backs going into this year because of the amount of carries and receiving targets he was expected to get.

He's a solid back but I don't know that he's top 10 in the league. He only has 1 year and in that year he didn't average 4 ypc.

And that's just everyone they are reporting. Kearney is dinged up and Loclear missed most of the 49'er game (the LT replacement) so who knows. Housh didnt practice last week either so that's not as concerning. Also not on that list is Trufant who is PUP for the 1st 6 weeks and he is the shutdown corner. In reality the team is playing with mostly a Preseason defense except Kearney, Jackson & Tapp. Pretty tough to win with that out there. Remember, as good as Curry is, this is only his 3rd game.

I can't wait for them to win though........

As a 49er fan you're welcome.

If there's a conclusion I've drawn about the Bears in the first two games this season, it's that Ron Turner is not a good NFL OC. He doesn't seem to know how to draw up plays that take advantage of his best players.
It took you until two games into this season to realize this? That's like somebody just now realizing that Aaron Miles isn't good at baseball.

but it's true, they really do!

I love how the only time you're ever serious and not playing a bit is when you're complaining about officials and conspiracy theories.
