Let's see if Hasselbeck will play. Mora made it sound like he would.

Their run D is pathetic.

So is the Bears run O.

Why am I not surprised that you responded with that. 16 run attempts today, thats it. Our running game being non existent has been as much Turners fault as Fortes/Oline. Forte has 2 carries in the 1st half today. Pitt defends the rush well so it makes sense putting the ball in Cutlers hands, but against Seattle it should be all Forte.

You're completely ignoring the Green Bay game where he had 25 carries for 55 yards. That exact same Green Bay defense playing at home again, allowed Ced Benson to go for 141 on 27 carries.

Forte has 38 carries for 84 yards this year, a 2.2 ypc average. While Pittsburgh is very good against the run, the Titans at least went 23 carries for 85 yards.

I can tell you think Turner is Satan but how can you say blame is equally his when Forte is having nowhere to run and getting stuffed so much? Especially in that Green Bay game when they gave him 25 carries.

Seattle just got gashed yesterday on 2 huge runs for 159 yards. Steven Jax had a fairly average day against them last week.

At any rate that was a really good win for the Bears yesterday. A 2-1 start would be fairly impressive.

Look the run game has left alot to be desired. As for the Green Bay game, Forte had 4 carries in the 1st quarter, and 4 carries in the 2nd quarter, pretty hard to get a feel for the game, and get going with 8 damn carries the entire 1st half. There was no flow to that game against GB because of the play calling by Turner, who decided he wanted to come out throwing all over the field. Then come 2nd half Turner gives Forte 17 carries in the 2nd half, yea good job trying to get Forte established early on. Forte has 10 rushing attempts in the 1st half of games so far, thats absurd.

Well I don't disagree with that. But there's nothing that says teams run better if they get more carries in the first half to get a feel for the game. 25 carries is 25 carries. And he got 17 carries in a half where the defense was more fatigued. And they still averaged 2.2 ypc against a team that got gashed for 150 this Sunday by Benson.

I just happen to have seen the entirety of the two Bears games this year and have seen that line open up nothing for Forte. It's certainly reasonable to expect them to get better as they become more cohesive, but thus far they're the main culprit.

We're transitioning to becoming a passing team now.

You don't get Jay Cutler and actually truly attempt to continue to be a run the ball and grind it out offense.

You could tell that Turner was dying to do this with Rex... with Cutler there's no question.

But yes, we do need to do better than 2.2 y/carry as the season goes on.

vs. the Steelers, however, as adept as they are at stopping the run, I think it was a great game plan to throw the ball as much as we did. The short passing game worked beautifully.

Pittsburgh, Indy, Arizona and New Orleans were among the least effective rushing teams last year. It's not nearly as vital as people like to say. Yes, you'd like to have that weapon, and yes you'd like to see significant improvements, but it won't be the determining factor in how this season goes.

I know he was exaggerating when he said that "you think Ron Turner is satan" but I actually do

I think him and his brother are actively out to destroy the game of football, and should be shoed out as fast as possible

That line is, for the most part, brand new. It's an assemblage of players from around the country who haven't seen or played with each other....besides this offseason.

I agree there's concern, but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect they will jump up quite a bit as the season progresses.

I agree that if they don't improve, it will likely be an issue that costs us dearly.

Bears top 3 WR

Johnny Knox: 8 REC 152 YDS 1 TD

Devin Hester: 8 REC 111 YDS 1 TD

Earl Bennett: 9 REC 88 YDS 0 TD

Broncos top 3 WR

Eddie Royal: 5 REC 38 YDS 0 TDs

Brandon Marshall: 7 REC 61 YDS 0 TDs

Brandon Stokely: 6 REC 157 YDS 1 TD

Saw this posted somewhere. Thought it was mildly interesting, given the defenses Denver has faced and the defenses we have faced... doesn't mean a whole lot after two games, but it'll be interesting to see how it goes as the season goes on and how the whole QB vs. WR's thing plays out. Some tried to argue that Orton would get plugged right into that offense and make use of all those weapons and the Broncos wouldn't miss that much of a beat.

I always have and still feel that outside of with the really great WRs, it's mostly about the QB.

Granted, I know Orton's numbers look better than Cutler's at the moment.

Also.. take out that like 80 yard TD "pass" to Stokes and what do you really have?

Yea Im not saying we should be out there running the ball 30+ times. But Forte only having 2 rushing attempts yesterday in the 1st half is pretty crazy. I understand Pitt is good at stuffing the run, and we were using the short passing game to replace the run. However 2 carries isn't going to do much to set up the play action they were trying to run. Hell at least give Forte 10 carries each half, to keep the D honest. I know Cutler has a great arm and such, but setting up the play action will only help get Hester/Knox open down field.

Like I said I just hope that the running game looks better these next 2 weeks against Seattle and Detroit. If it doesnt happen does it mean the Bears are screwed this season? Of course not, but if they can get the run game established it just makes this offense that much more dangerous.

Joniak's call was just used in the Miller Lite commercial. Does anyone know what play it was? Some sort of tip and a TD. I thought it might have been one of Mike Brown interceptions in 2001. Edited by Wilson A2000

The thing I like is the 1st week Bennet/Hester were the 2 main guys. This week it was Knox/Olsen/Davis. Next week who knows who it will be, and thats a good thing. We dont have to have a "#1" WR on this team. We can be successful with the group we have as long as they dont get the case of the drops. Cutler has shown he will spread the ball around, and for the most part will find the open guy. It cant be real fun being Seattle trying to prepare to play the Bears. Do you key on shutting Knox down? Or Hester? Or Olsen? This offense has weapons, regardless what other teams fans, and members of the media believe.

I was wondering that too.

I also found it interesting that they chose to use Joniak instead of Laravee. And they're playing it during the Packer games on the radio, too.

I wonder how many Packer fans understand who that is :)

I doubt many. I don't know of any of the visiting radio commentators except Laravee because he did the Bulls and Bears.

I wonder if Joniak's call was just a made up one? I can't think of any games where the Bears won it by a tip at the end except Brown's two in 2001, and Laravee did that call for the Bears.

Wasn't it the game against the Browns when James Allen caught the tipped hail mary pass from Shane Matthews to force overtime?

I'm confused by this. Shouldn't there be seperate maps for noon and 3 PM games?

Fox only gets to show 1 game on Sunday. You either get the 1 PM game in your region or the 4 PM game, so it makes sense to bundle them all into one map rather than have two separate maps with large parts of the country receiving no game in that time slot.

Good week for a trip to Alaska. I'll bet the Canucks will also be watching Bear football. Other than that, this is why I shell out all that cash for NFLST

I broke down yesterday morning and got ST, and it was amazing. The Game Mix channel is heaven on TV.

This means nothing but Larivee has been the Packers announcer since 99'. Also I actually listened to that Bears/Browns game on the radio and I thought it was the same guy who does Bears games now but I have no clue on that one.
