What's disappointing is when the Hawks got up 4-2 in the third I knew Phoenix would at least tie the game. At the point I hoping to get out of Phoenix with a point, just pathetic.

are the coyotes really "inferior" right now? they're 2 points behind the hawks and have won 8 straight. the hawks are slumping bad and have injuries.

the coyotes weren't favorites to win the game...according to the guy next to me at the game, the hawks were favored by a goal and a half. That said, I don't think the coyotes are an inferior team at all. We had seats on the glass last night (my hubby's christmas gift). I was wearing our coyotes jersey and my husband had his hawks jersey on so we had fun with that all night. There was at least 1 goal, probably 2, where Bryzgalov didn't see what was coming. Both teams played great, hard hockey and it was phenomenal to see in person. The coyotes have been a much better team since the coaching change - and the 'yotes are going to be a team to contend with in the playoffs.

I think Kane was surprised too. It looked more like good fortune for the Coyotes than anything.

 

That's a tough road matchup for anyone. I'm glad we got a point out of the deal. Still, watching the Hawks blow leads is becoming an all too familiar occurence.

A goal and a half is what all hockey games have as the spread, do not read into that. Odds are then placed against this spread.

So I see the Coyotes won again and are now tied with us for #1 seed, albeit with 2 extra games.

the sharks lost again too..... their 6th straight and 5th straight in regulation

 

if the hawks get the 1 seed, hopefully detroit stays hot and passes colorado. theyre only 3 points behind them and the avalanche have an insane schedule the rest of the way (la x3, sj x2, phoenix, calgary, vancouver, chicago, anaheim, edmonton)

 

colorado seems like a pretty good mathcup... at least compared to detroit

he was actually talking with Bryzgalov briefly after the play (think they went to time out before the next face off?) but he was clearly stunned it didn't go in, and gave a little tap to Bryzgalov's pads with his stick, and I thought that little sign of respect was pretty cool.

Well when you lose 6 in a row there is usually multiple issues. It was hard to say since Edmonton is not exactly a playoff caliber team. Things I noticed. Bad goaltending, defensive lapses(amazed how often Edmonton had guys in front of the net without a body on them), low intensity, when there was a puck on the boards you just felt like Edmonton came out with it every time. The Sharks have no confidence right now. I know I just watched one game but they look much worse then the Hawks at this point.

I saw a story about that on Yahoo sports. The Yahoo guy couldn't understandwhy anyone would get offended by what happens at Blackhawk's games. It must be really amazing in person.

it was some detroit based blogger who said something a couple of weeks ago. I dont think that there is anything inappropriate about what happens during the anthem at the UC. Somehow this whole thing reminds me of Slapshot where the ref comes up to one of the Hanson brothers during the anthem and starts yelling at him and the Hanson says "I am listening to the song"
