Absolutely LOVE the home white from that throwback game last year.

Was at the Sox game tonight (long story). One of the people in attendance was wearing the classic blue alternate back from the Sandberg days in the 1980's. Such an awesome freakin' uniform, it's too bad the guy wearing it was a drunken jag who didn't deserve to be sporting such a fine looking piece of clothing.

I think altering the shade of Cubbie blue is one of the worst ideas I've heard in quite awhile.

I also wouldn't touch our logo either. There needs to be a focus on NOT changing stuff (aside from the players and front office). If the colors/jerseys/logos get changed, pretty soon they're gonna be knocking down Wrigley.

I wouldn't change the colors and logos, but the jerseys can be altered. The home whites from that pic are pretty sweet. The road greys are pretty ugly. They should keep the alt blues though.

That's all fine.

Do you realize how many times our logo has changed in wrigley? Haven't knocked it down yet.

This was a pretty cool concept I saw on sportslogos.net a few years back.

Oh my.....I never seen a better uniform then the unis they wore on the throwback game. I would very much would love to see those uniforms as the official home unis again. Not to mention when you can incorporate two of Chicago's franchises into on uniform+pure awesome. Bears hat plus Cubs uniform=muy bueno.

The Reds are gonna be pissed.

It wasn't a Bears hat. The Bears didn't start using the wishbone "C" in any capacity until after the Cubs had worn it as a cap logo for a good decade or so already.

The Blue Jays are gona be pissed.

Seriously. That looks way too close to the bluejays uniform.

If I had complete control I'd keep the home pinstripes, keep the blue alternates but cut back on their use and start using the 1914 throwback that Truffle posted earlier on a semi-regular basis. As for the Road uni's...I'd be open to some kind of change to the Grey uni's as I think they're hideous.

There arent nearly enough camoflauge uniforms in baseball today

There is one. Which is far more than enough.

Or a Canadian high school team. Almost looks like a maple leaf on the right sleeve

You mean the National League logo?

That redesign concept is horrendous, IMO. Way overboard on the color stroking, superfluous italics (ooh, edgy!), and why the hell are the "S" and "O" enlarged?! The bear looks more like a blue pig. A flame trail on anything is trashy and unimaginative. And they completely deleted all traces of red.

I don't know anything about the studio that did it, but that's pure amateur hour.

Agreed on the '48 throwbacks, though. A team with 130+ years of history to draw from should have more throwback days on the schedule.

True, but when people who are not familiar with that stat see it there first thought be "why is a cub player wearing a Bears hat?" Again, that uniform would be nice to see as the home uni.

I wouldnt mind the retro jerseys from last year of they had a bit more blue in them. People complain about how boring the away grays are and these would be just as bad with no color added.

that edgy cubs ones above looks bad, the cubs dont need a modern logo, just a refresh of the current look

I once saw a fan wearing the Cubs blue alternate, except instead of being blue it was sold white, no pinstripes. I really liked it.

Like this, but imagine a jersey.

I like this one too.

The logo on the alternate jersey with the C and the Cub is cool. I wouldn't mind seeing them adopt that on their home jerseys and even doing away with the pin stripes.

Ok, and I kind of have done a reverse from when I started this thread. I would now vote to NOT change the shade of blue. I was in the Cubs store over in Woodfield Mall over the weekend and actually saw some merchandise that was darker blue and I did not like the way it looked. As for the modern-futuristic uniform sketches above, they do look cool, but not for the Cubs. It was actually seeing that illustration that partially made me change my mind that the Cubs should just keep their colors, but maybe consider adopting the C and the Cub logo.
