Yadier Molina just nailed his 2nd runner of the night, because apparently people still don't get that running on him is a stupid idea.

I know that OPS is like a couple of things added together....what things exactly?

On base percentage (OBP) and slugging percentage (SLG).

OK....so what would a hitter like D Lee's OPS be?

AWESOME RANGE RYAN

I thought so too until I saw the replay and he was playing WAY over in the hole. I think it was more positioning than range... not that he has good range either.

His positioning is partly due to his poor range.

Lee's OPS entering tonight was .927. OBP of .376, SLG of .550.

Padres are not good....too much game left to gamble like that.

For comparison's sake, Albert Pujols entered tonight with a 1.120 OPS, resulting from a .445 OBP and a .675 SLG.

DLee's OBP is .376 and his slugging is .550. So he's got a .927 OPS.

You want a good first baseman to be in the .850 to .900 minimum range.

OMG! That's higher than D Lee by a bunch. (according to Dew)

Most pointless hit and run evar.

That's not really a hit-and-run. It was a 3-2 count.

With just 1 out.

Yeah, but a hit-and-run is when the batter is swinging no matter what. Lee would have taken ball 4. IMO sending a runner on 3-2 less than 2 outs is not a hit-and-run.
