That means both teams are full of future major league stars, right?

Tennessee has a few guys who actually are halfway decent at worst. There's some worthwhile pitching on that roster and Starlin Castro is really intriguing.

Iowa? ...sure.

Brendan Ryan's career OPS after the slam is .699.

Hey Kosuke!

Uhhh..is that good? Baker!

A .699 OPS is bad. A shortstop probably should be in the .750 or so range.

Cardinals fans trying to tell us their team isn't lucky....HBP, BB, HBP, HR from guy with only 1 other HR this year. Yeah that's talent right there. Edited by UMFan83

I should probably amend that number to .780-.800 range for a pretty good shortstop OPS. That would put a player in the middle of the pack or slightly better in the NL this year. For instance, Theriot's .784 OPS puts him 11th in the NL.

Good lord, I just looked it up on Gameday to make sure you weren't making that up. I swear they're finding about every possible ridiculous way to score runs this year.

I know that OPS is like a couple of things added together....what things exactly?

Remember when the Cubs were thinking about getting Furcal?

Yup. When Hendry put all his eggs in one basket and failed, so he wayyyyy overpayed to get Pierre.

AWESOME RANGE RYAN

I thought so too until I saw the replay and he was playing WAY over in the hole. I think it was more positioning than range... not that he has good range either.
