  1. Yup. In almost every instance, someone running on the field is just drunk and looking for attention, but there have been enough instances of players and umps being attacked that it shouldn't be tolerated. It's really not hard to understand. If you don't want to get tasered at a baseball game, all you have to do is stay somewhere in the stands. Sorry, but that's a short sighted, ignorant excuse for a solution. There is a difference between attacking thugs and drunk kids on a lark. If they are gonna sell that beer for 7 bucks a pop until a boy loses his judgement this kind of thing should be expected from time to time. The old, fat, unfit security gets the final blame. But it's too expensive for the cheap ass team to hire off duty cops like they used to who know how much force is needed; and the least, the better. Don't tase' 'em Bro! he wasn't even drunk you mongloid Drunk or sober is not germain to anything, and your greasy mother is a mogoloid.
  2. You got me on ignore but still read the quotes, huh? In the 1st place the kid wasn't running, he was jogging around in circles waving a stupid towel. He was threatening NO ONE, just acting an ass. The proper police action in this situation is APPREHENSION, not attack. If the security was even half way phisically fit they could have grabbed him in an instant. Just wait 'till his lawyer gets thru with the Phillies. You won't see any more stupid, fat tubs of goo working "security".

  4. This is not a funny incedent. Because the fat, lard ass Philly security could not catch the drunk 17 yr old that was threatening no one, just making a fool of himself he was tasered? It's a serious physical assault that should only be used in serious, life threatening situations. I hope the kid's parents sue the Phils for about Howards salary. And they WILL win.
  5. Truffle MUST do the threads untill we lose a game!

  7. Just curious, Truffle.....what is your record for game threads so far?
  8. This should have been in green font.
  9. 1. What makes everything else moot is all the stuff that has been posted showing Pujols hasn't really fallen off. 2. No one has argued about the Cards only beating sub-.500 teams. No one knows if that means anything yet. It's impossible to know until they play more above-.500 teams. What is known is that they were the favorites in the division and currently sit atop the division. He hasn't fell off? OK...whatever.
  10. Very interesting....I did get Carpenter and Wainright mixed up. That certainly makes everything else I said moot. And that the Cards have only beaten sub .500 teams is meaningless too..just a coincedence.
  11. He grew up in Independence Mo. I can see that. You are kidding, Yes? You got him confused with Truman? He moved to Mo. when he was "18"......but you kid don't you?
  12. I understand that, Nut's..but those are NOT Pujols like numbers....50 points below his career Ave? On a pace to strike out 120 times? Not to mention on a pace to lead the infield in errors? And one more thing....you can check this: since Holliday joined the team his offensive numbers are down across the board. You would think with this exellent "protection" he would be even better. But he is worse by a long shot. Coincedence? Nope.....he is no longer the [expletive] of the walk and his fragile 3rd world mind, along with his fat, heavy legged body can't deal with it. He is pressing like a rookie trying to make the team, and it shows.
  13. thoughts? your post is 100% wrong and stupid. Why? Give me a reason why. Because you don't WANT it to be true? He has struck out 14 times so far in April. 5 more times than in his rookie season, and this month is not over! I understand your reluctance to admit that he is falling off, it's obvious that you don't see it. Time will tell. But get this: He has 1 more HR than little Rasmus who only plays against right handers, and has LESS walks not intentional. You see no problem there?
  14. Don't look now, but he leads the Cardinals in strikeouts, GIDP and stupid gaffs on the bases. Guess what his BA is right now? About .274 The league has picked up on it and he has not been given an IBB for 3 games...that has GOT to be a record. I have never believed that he was a roider, but I'm convinced that he is about 35 years old. Why would he be the only Dominican to not lie about his age? The cool thing for the Cubs is that LaRussa will keep batting him in the 3 hole no matter HOW bad he does. Those of you that know my posts know that I'm a Cub AND Card fan....but to tell you the truth, I'm getting sick to death of LaRussa and his lying ways. The hireing of that fat lying fraud as a hitting coach was next to the last straw. There is no reason to think now that the Cards will walk away with the Central. Carpenter is not good this year. And it seems to be messing his mind up. He was plunked the other nite and went crazy, like the guy did it on purpose. Then, in his next start he drills Dero TWICE (and Mark got pissed as hell) Either his control is whacked, or his hatred for guy. Then he went into 2nd base like Ty Cobb to do damage, but the ball beat him by 10 feet. It was laughable.....Lopez, the new switch hitter is only played when a lefty is going, and the best bench stick (Lugo) was traded away in spite of the fact that his salary was ZIP! The Cards have only beat sub .500 teams, and the 1st time they play a good team, SF, they score 1 run in 2 games. I know it's early, but you can kiss them goodbye. It will be the Brews to concentrate on. I see Zambrano going to the pen as a good thing at this point. But I surely would like to see Sori in another teams uni. I could go further, but I don't want to bore. Thoughts?
  15. Parking was the main reason for the Brooklyn move. The success of the Boston move was O'Malley's leveraging point to get Ebbets field shut down in favor a better one on Flatbush, close to the main highways. Brooklyn was taking it on the chin economically. The big newspaper shut down and the neigborhood near the park was not so hot. But the most powerful man in NY, Robt. Moses did no care about O'Malley's agenda. He blocked what was seen as a very reasonable proposal by Walter. He apparantly knew about the upcoming expansion and for a reason known only to himself he wanted the Dodgers to move to Queens. When it was clear that the Stoneham was taking his team to SF Moses knew NY would be the 1st city to get a new team, and Queens would be the location. Hello Mets. It was a bitter loss to the Brooklyn fans, loyal thru all the years of futility. The offer made by LA for all the land needed for a park was ONE dollor. O'Malley, a good business man STILL gave Moses one last chance to keep his team in NY, but the answer was "Bye bye"
  16. A word of advice to avid Card fans participating in ANY teams fan forum: When his or McGwire's names are mentioned it is inevitable that there will be bashing. Get used to it and move on. You can't defend him by pointing to other managers as he is the poster boy for deaf, dumb and blind steroid managers. As to the pixie dust: It makes as much sense as a billy goat curse, so why take it seriously?
  17. I agree that he would be a natural in that role, certainly better than the other 2 even if all he threw were curves and change-ups. What was most awful for LaRussa was his burning out the pen for his endless switch's, while Manual had 3 good arms left when the Cards hit the wall. And to lift Holliday and put the pitcher in the 4 hole effectively shut down Pujols. He was happily walked to get to the pitcher twice to load the bases. What a luxury for Charlie! AP and MH BOTH taken out of the equasion. Good grief! Yeah I remember tuning into the game late (15th?) and noticing Holliday was out and wondering how the heck that happened. If he had started why take him out of a 0-0 game? If he didn't start why wouldn't you put him in for a pinch hit late when it was 0-0 and then keep him in in case it remains tied? Holliday was pulled because he was "sick"....he had the previous game off for that reason but played later in the game anyway. If he was still sick he should not have started on Sat., and under NO conditions should the pitcher replace him at cleanup. But LaRussa loves the dbl switch, even if it means taking a bullet to the foot.
