    And it only gets tougher for Stl with Billingsley and Kershaw going, and not Randy Wolf I will have to take your word on that one.....I don't know very much about left coast teams. (I never heard of Kershaw) :oops:

    It won't get any easier for L.A. tomorro with Wainwright going.

    I'm all for optimism, but taking St. Louis too lightly would be a mistake. True, they had the easiest schedule in the league, but they had the most rookies of any team. (due to the cheap owner I'm told) They had Carpenter and Loshe on the DL for about a month each. Pujols' only protection, Ludwick was on the DL or hampered for most of the 1st half, and they had 4 abominations playing regular. (Duncan, Ankiel and Thurston and Odd Wellemeyer) The fans forced Duncan out by baiting LaRussa to initiate "Vomitgate", and the 3 new additions to the team forced Thurston to the bench. Ankiel is fighting for his life. Odd Welly is the worst starting pitcher in baseball and the locals are giving him the Duncan treatment....he may thru. (maybe Ankiel will take his spot in the rotation?) On paper their offense now is the best in the Central, but with only 3 decent starters and an imploding pen it's hard to predict what's going to happen. One thing is sure....lotta baseball left!

    Cubs should be in 1st very soon....Pujols is killing the Cardinals with pop ups and DP's fors DAYS now! =D>

    Any doubt he's gonna hit .400 for them? He was not this good for Boston....must be that sweet Mississippi River water.

    :-k Who? You missed that one, Keener. They got him and kept Mott plus 1.5 mil in his salary. He went 4 for 5 and stole a base in his debut sparking the Cards to an 8 to 1 win over the cream of the East. They said that McGuire, Rolen and Edmonds were "rent a players" too. Seems once a free agent type gets on that team, they like it. Lugo had a triple and a homer in his debut...DeRosa had 3 homers in 2 days and the lousy head case Ankiel had 3 hits last nite (1 a homer) for the 1st time since April. Better keep an eye on them, AND the friggin Astros! (forget the shirtail waggers; they are toast IMO)
