    The integrity and character both McGwire sons have shown must make Ma and Pa McGwire very proud. Dumb scum begats dumb scum....they got the boys they deserved. No truth, no brains, and no good speech writers.

    He is a bloated fool with an IQ hovering about 100....he is a career hitter of about a .275 lifetime ave. A free swinging meathead that has embarassed himself real bad, but he don't care...he has a JOB! :D)

    I cheered them both and will now boo them both....I just don't think I will have the oppertunity to boo Sammy. He and Bonds have faded from the baseball scene, where they belong. Mac and his Svengarlic chose another route illustrating their unabashed arrogance yet again.

    Half watching "Baseball Tonite" and I thought I heard them say that the Cubs don't go to St. Louis until mid August! Before I go off on mad scheduling rant, somebody please tell me I heard wrong!

    Well, the Cardinals had their 1st ST game yesterday and the new Hitting coach was NOT on the field for batting practice...but he was later spotted in the dugout...he was also not spotted by reporters after the game. This is merely a precurser to the regular season....stay tuned.

    Yeah...he had to know that smackin' the kid was wrong to the Mom...but the thing is...McGwire is a functional moron..I put his I.Q. at about 98. He has YET to speak his own words to media. Just one stupid lie or evasion after the other. He is pretty close to being scum, like his manager that was the only man in the clubhouse that didn't know he and Canseco were jabbing each other in the butt.

    What a stupid waste of ink! Change the Div. because the Yanks/Sawks win?? Besides, Boston is gonna go DOWN w/out Manny and the fat, ageing Poppy being that he must find a new masking agent for his HGH. The leagues deffinately need to be reealigned, but it won't happen in OUR lifetime.

    The Phillies were the joke of the Nat. league 'till the '50s...they did not win a WS 'till the '80s!! They got notice in '64 for a good team that collapsed in the final 2 weeks, but thats not a good story! They have NO Cobb or Greenburg in their history, and the Tigers have won many pennants over the years. The town itself took little notice of them until the Athletics decided to become a farm system for the Yankees, and eventually moved to KC. Philly has 7 pennants to Detroit's 10, they have an equally legendary announcer, they have numerous legendary players. I think each organization is fairly similar. Been around a very long time, some success, some legends. I don't know who the Philly anouncer is now...is it the guy that called the Micheal Jack Schmit thing that's replayed so often? Ernie Harwell?

    Storied? If by success it's Yanks, Dodgers and Cards in that order by pennants won. Storied by colorful things through the decades? Black Sox scandle is ALL the Sox have to claim. (gotta share Veek with the Browns) Some may wanna add Dico Demo nite. Yanks still rule there: Ruth and Murderers row with Gherig to Mantle, Maris and Ford....Yankee Stadium and Mel Allen and Casey....Steinbrunner and Martin. Second is a tuff call between St.Louis and Brooklyn/LA.....Hornsby to Frisch and the Gashouse Gang with Dizzy, et al....Musial to Gibson to Whitey ball. Harry and Jack Buck. NO POINTS for ball Park. Dodgers' lovable Bums become a real story after Jackie and friends join up in '45. The intrigue of the move from Brooklyn to Chaves Ravine....Wills and Koufax. Next it's a toss up between the Red Sox and the Cubs....you all know the story here. ( Like Veek, Harry must me shared) The Philly's are NOT storied at all. A mention for the Whiz kids that were never WS champs. The Giants and Detroit get a mention for #6 and 7. Mathewson, McCarthy Hubble, Mays...the Miracle at Coogans Bluff, Leo the Lip vs. Ty Cobb and Greenburg (nod to the Giants) I admit to being a NL whore....I'm sure Boston Fans put them right up there with the Yanks for 1st. OK...what teams did I overlook?

    if aparicio doesn't care then why should anyone else? Of course he cares. But what's he gonna say? "Hey, I don't want to you to un-retire my number," "I think the Sox are disrespecting me by un-retiring my number," or something along those lines would be my first guess. Are you naive enough to believe that they did not talk about it and agree to their statement beforehand? Retiring a players # is the highest honor a team can bestow on a retired player, ergo the biggest slight to take it away...Luis has to be hurt and dissapointed. In SOME way the Sox made it worth his while to pretend otherwise.

    If he goes into the hall he will be the 1st DH to do so. Would he have been as good if he had to go out on the field and hustle around in the summer heat like the rest of the team? I don't know, but that will be in the minds of the voters.

    They really should build a wing for the Hall of dam good. In my mind the only 2 position players elected to the HOF in the last 15 years or so that belong there are Brett and Gwynn. (I may be forgeting somebody of their calibre, but it's late)

    What does his job description have to do with how rival fans feel about him? He and his Gurussa have been lying for years and all savvy fans know it. What? He gets a pass for admitting he was dirty? Like we didn't know that? His handling of the Costas interview was as sickening as the congressional hearing. This mess will not go away, and until he and LaLiar are sent packing it will always be a black eye to the Cardinal Organization. Hitler is dead....Bin Laden is in hiding....McGwire will be O so accessible.

    I'm sure that's what he is PRAYING for. I don't think that will be the case in NY and Philly. When are people going to boo him? On his way into the park, during BP, leaving the park and signs bobbing in the stands and possible stuff thrown on the field. Besides those things, I guess nothing.
