I believe they adjusted that rule so you have to bat or play the field before you can be removed from the game due to some misuses by Earl Weaver.

I've always wondered if you put together a lineup like that for a full season, how many times would said team get shutout in 162 games. I'd imagine no matter who you put up there your bound to slump together at least a couple of times out of 162 games.

Well of the current everyday starters, I don't see why not. If Soto wasn't hurt I would have put him 6th instead of Theriot.

I was going to make the argument for Reed leading off against lefties, but then I saw Theriot's line against lefties this year: .350/.411/.550/.961.

My thought process is to kickstart the guys who need it most. Lee will still hit in the 5 spot, but we really need Bradley and Fukudome to get hot, and having the two hottest bats behind them could get them some better pitches to hit.

 

ETA: Also, the heart of the order can be mixed and matched a little bit since most are guys who are deserving of hitting in the heart of the order. My main concern is keeping the Theriot's and the Fontenot's down at the bottom.

Leave him at leadoff, no question. I don't understand why anybody would try and slide Soriano back up to leadoff. His days are done there. It's probably best to get past that silly story.
