Mike Fontenot as an everyday player was a bad idea from the get go.

He was never going to be an everyday player. Miles was brought in to play somewhat regularly.

Am I missing something? Aaron Miles, that is how you spell the name right?

No, it's just that Miles wouldn't start for some colleges. Planning on him doing any kind of platooning was a farce.

No, just the idea of Miles playing regularly is hilariously stupid.

I guess I don't understand bolding the "Mile" part of his name then.

GROSS understatement there....

This makes sense though, the two guys we would usually want up in big spots last year are both gone this year. Rammy and DeRo, I just didn't think they would all be this bad.

I don't like to use this term, but if any team was "mentally weak", it's this Cubs team. They mirror their playoff chokiness. Don't they have the MLB record for nine straight playoff losses in a row? How does that not eventually permeate their psyche?

You should consider talking to somebody about your obsession with their recent playoff struggles.

You realize this is a Cubs forum and that is the team's biggest hurdle in recent years, right? I guess I'm just interested in the Cubs getting to the World Series. The Cubs playoff crapiness is the single most important issue in the context of a Cubs forum.

I don't think games from 2003 really have any impact on what is going on with the Cubs right now. It's really weird how I've seen quite a few posts by you and every single one of them seems to be associated with your perception of a mental hurdle surrounding the teams struggles in the playoffs. They are on the verge of going under .500 but you are worried about games played months and years ago.

The obsession with those three games is what got us into this ridiculous situation to begin with.

They were far more important than the 162 that preceeded them when we were the best team in baseball.

Nice job Sori you cant hit, and you cant field

The first year Soriano's stayed off the DL has easily been his worst with the Cubs.

The 1 year I wish hed go on the DL he wont.

Why is Angel Guzman throwing 2 innings today in a 3-run deficit? He's the best reliever, and has a history of injury. What is the point?

because Lou's asleep in the dugout.

The best teams in baseball go to the world series and play each other.
