Murray just used his last challenge of the match...eight games into the match.

And it wasn't close. He's known for being awful with challenges.

Challenges reset every set.

Federer just outright stole the second set there from nothing.

That was the turning point for me. Murray has two break points at 4-4 in the second set. If he converts, he gets to serve for a two-set lead. Instead, Federer saves both, then breaks at 6-5 to take the set. Close second was Federer's break in the third set, getting it after such a long game. Once he got that, it was going to be extremely tough for Murray to win.

Really neat to see that Federer's career isn't tailing off like some thought it would after 30. The man is incredible.

Yes, he's clearly on the short list.

I completely missed this when it happened, but apparently Yaroslava Shvedova played a Golden Set in the first set against 10 seed Sara Errani in the third round. Only the second Golden Set in recorded pro tennis history, and something that seems impossible.

I'm not sure if I can liken it to something in a more familiar sport, but it's kind of like a pitcher throwing a perfect game without missing the strikezone.

But not really, because it's only one set within the match. It would be tough to equate it to a team sport. Maybe a pitcher striking out the side three straight innings. Or a QB throwing nothing but 15 yard completed passes every play for a quarter or half.

Interesting. I'd never even heard of a golden set before.

Just saw that Nadal pulled out of the Olympics.

Is he hurt or just burned out? Claimed fitness is not there, but its not from Wimbledon.

Roddick hanging it up? Didn't see that coming.

I can't believe he is still messing around with tennis.

Sad to see him go. Can't blame him Brooklyn Decker > Tennis.

He never recovered from that finals loss at Wimbledon what 3 years ago to Federer. Probably the cruelest loss I have ever seen in a major final.

I feel bad for him that his peak coincided with the greatest player ever. That's a bad break. In another era I imagine he wins multiple majors.

And it's over for Andy. He needed that second set win and didn't get it. Very good career. Had the talent for a few more Grand Slams. I still wonder if he retired a bit early. But I guess he doesn't have the game anymore to win Grand Slams, so after 31 wins why not hang it up?

Murray's looking pretty good right now. He's in the final and is guaranteed an extra day off over Djokovic/Ferrer as their match was suspended with Ferrer up 5-2 in the first set. Hoping he's able to get it done this time.

If he doesn't, I'm not sure he'll ever get one. Federer gets bounced in the quarters, Nadal doesn't play, he might not have to play Djokovic and his opponent in the final will be on short rest.

Murray wins the first set in a tiebreaker after what seemed like roughly 34 set points in the tiebreak. Then he blows a 4-0 lead in the second set as Djokovic got it back to 5-5 only to break Djokovic up 6-5 to win the set.

Hoping he can close it out because I'm not sure how many more boring as hell 30 stroke rallies I can take. These guys are both great players but they sure do play some boring matches.
