Huge for Murray to start the fifth out with a break and a hold.

Murray's got two chances to serve for the title.

Congrats to Murray on a well deserved victory. He finally gets one after four finals losses.

First time since 2003 four players won the four different majors (it also happened in 2002, with four different players from the 03 winners). In 2003, Andre Agassi won his final major, Andy Roddick won his only major and Roger Federer won his first major.

In 2002 and 2003, eight different players won majors. In the nine years since, seven players have won 36 majors.

Also kind of interesting, that's five straight different US Open winners (Federer, Del Potro, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray).

Would have liked to watch the entirety of Wawrinka-Djokovic, which Djokovic won 12-10 in the fifth set. Wawrinka blitzed him in the first and was up 5-2 (though only one break) in the second. When he blew that, I thought he was done but he fought back.

Djokovic is going to have a tough test in the quarters bouncing back from that and having to face Berdych.

On the women's side, Maria Sharapova has played four matches and lost a total of five games (four of which came in the third round against Venus Williams).

19 year old Sloane Stephens beats Serena Williams in three sets and advances to the semis where she'll play later today.

After Federer beats Tsonga in a fairly entertaining match, the top-four seeds on the men's side are again in the semis. We'll get Djokovic-Ferrer later today followed by Murray-Federer on Thursday night. Should be good.

Also, I guess Nadal will drop to No. 5 in the rankings on Monday (or so the announcers said during the Federer match). This is significant because between the Aussie and French Opens last year, he won pretty much everything so he doesn't have many points to pick up on Ferrer (and could very easily drop more points and spots in the rankings if he's not healthy). The French doesn't have a history of adjusting the seedings and tends to just go by the ATP Tour rankings. If they do that this year, one of Djokovic/Murray/Federer could have to face Nadal in the quarters rather than the semis or, if Nadal drops outside the top eight, the round of 16.

I realize that David Ferrer is a clear step or two down from the big 4, but Djokovic is just eviscerating him right now and it's pretty impressive. Very easy first two sets (both 6-2) and he's up two breaks at 3-0 in the third set. Whatever that 5-setter against Wawrinka took out of him the other night, he's perfectly fine now and he's going to get two days off before Saturday night's final.

Yeah 5 games total lost to Ferrer is insane. Hoping for another final vs. Federer just to see where Roger is now.

Murray looks like he's just about done. Djokovic up a set and two breaks in the fourth set. The first two sets were dead heats, no breaks of serve at all, but Murray had to call a trainer after the second set to have his foot looked at and he hasn't been the same since. Too bad since he was matching Djokovic shot for shot in the first two sets.

EDIT: Djokovic closes it out, becoming the first men's player to win three straight Aussie Open titles in the Open Era.
