Great semi-final match between Djokovich and Del Potro going to 5 sets. Del Potro was down two match points in the tie break but came back. A few 100 MPH forehands didn't hurt.

One at 120. Djoker also had a 112 mph 2nd serve. Great match.

A 120 MPH forehand? Is that possible?

And it looked like a flick of the wrist, cross court, in for a winner. Incredible shot.

I know he got bounced early at Wimbledon and admittedly I don't follow the non-majors all that closely, but I can't believe Federer is ranked No. 7.

Also, the bottom half of the US Open draw is incredibly weak. On one half, you have Djokovic, Murray, Del Potro and Berdych. The other is Nadal, Ferrer, Federer and Gasquet. If Nadal doesn't roll to the final, something is wrong with him.

Nadal's got the toughest quarter draw easily though, with a hot Isner and Federer. If Isner had managed to land the Ferrer/Gasquet quarter, I'd probably pick him to reach the semis.

EDIT: Plus Raonic and Janowicz are in the bottom half. The top half may have those 4, but there's nobody else besides maybe Dmitrov who's a threat (so if the quarters aren't Djokovic-Del Potro and Murray-Berdych, there was a huge upset).

Predictions:

Top quarter: Del Potro over Djokovic

Second quarter: Murray over Berdych

Third quarter: Raonic over Janowicz

Fourth quarter: Nadal over Federer

Final: Nadal over Del Potro

Of course Janowicz loses in straight sets in the first round.

Dmitrov also fell in 5 sets.

Isner rolled an opponent like I've never seen.

We were set up to get quarterfinal matchups of Nadal-Federer, Djokovic-del Potro and Murray-Berdych as well as a Murray-Djokovic semifinal. None of those happened. Hopefully we'll at least get Djokovic-Nadal in the final. And seeing as those two guys are facing two players who had a combined 1 career appearance in a Grand Slam semi and four in a Grand Slam quarter before this tournament in 69 appearances, I'd say that's a pretty safe bet.

It took Djokovic a full set to get into the match - Nadal steamrolled him in the first - but he's looking good now. He broke Nadal the last two games of the second set and the first game of the third. Nadal had been broken once in his first 6 matches here.

One set apiece and Djokovic up a break at 3-2 in the third.

Djokovic sure blew the third set. First he blew the early break, then he couldn't close out a 0-40 lead on Nadal's serve late in the set.

Way too many errors from him today.

I don't think Nadal played all that well. Djokovic blew that thing more than anything.

Of the top-8 seeds on the men's side, only del Potro failed to make the quarters. On the women's side, only three of the top-8 made the quarters.

I havent seen much Federer so far but he must have his game he spanked Tsonga. I am hopefull he can bury Murray as well. Wawrinka Djokovic should be good. Dimitrov is +850 vs Nadal and I think hes playing well enough to make that line interesting.

Djokovic goes down in the quarterfinals, ending his streak of 14 straight semifinals reached, which was the second longest all time and still 9 behind Federer's record.

So either Berdych or Wawrinka will be in the men's final.

Nadal-Federer in the other semifinal.

Federer didn't look great, but he looked pretty good against Murray. Nadal looked shaky in his match and probably should have lost. Wasn't moving that great and was missing a lot of easy shots.

Nadal is usually Federer kryptonite but if he plays against Federer like he did tonight, he's going to lose.

Gonna wake up early to see the back half of the match tonight. Made a pretty big bet on Fed at 20:1 to win the championship, so very interested financially. Can't hedge because nadal is a heavy favorite.

Rolling with the greatest of all time. Don't feel great about about it though.
