With the plethora of reality TV out there, I am sure there is something for everyone, but I have not found one worth a crap. Do you watch these shows?

for a comment tell me if you actively participate in those phone in polls, or how many of these shows you watch?

Simple answer: yes.

But there is such a wide variety of "reality" programming that I feel I need to parse it a bit.

I watch some competition shows (Survivor, Amazing Race, American Idol) and a lot of DIY type shows.

I don't watch anything celebrity related, don't watch any of the crap on MTV/VH1, etc.

It's painting with a pretty broad brush to lump, say, Survivor together with I Love Money

I guess I wasn't thinking about the DIY as reality but it is. the MTV stuff looks revolting

I've watched maybe 1.5 seasons each of Survivor, Big Brother, and American Idol.

The only reality show I watch now is Biggest Loser, with my wife.

I watch Survivor and Amazing Race regularly. I watched American Idol for the first time this season. I watched the first couple years of The Apprentice and have watched a few defunct shows (American Inventor, On The Lot, and Grease: You're The One That I Want). I have not participated in voting.

Yes, I guess if you count some of the home improvement shows on HGTV. My girlfriend records "Dress My Nest" with Tom from "Queer Eye" and I watch that. And occasionally I'll get sucked into "The Dog Whisperer".

But the stupid stuff on Bravo and E makes me want to hurt people and destroy things.

As has been mentioned, it's just too broad of a brush to paint. "Reality" shows means so many different things. It means celebrity awfulness; it means really, really complicated game shows; it means docudramas like Deadliest Catch. Would travel shows like No Reservations count?

i have watched deadliest catch a few times, so maybe i was lying. i don't watch any of the celebrity bullcrap or the talent competitions or 20 losers living in the same house, though.

Survivor, The Amazing Race, and Top Chef are my reality vices.

As others have said, Survivor (and the others, IMO) doesn't deserve to be put in with the other reality trash. Even after 18 seasons, I'm still hooked.

If No Reservations is included under the "reality" umbrella, then there's quite a few others that I watch.

I watch "scripted" shows and "actuality" shows like Cold Case Files, City Confidential, etc. These "reality shows" are not worth my time.

i like Biggest Loser. and i'll watch a lot of those cook-off shows on food network.

I didn't watch any until my wife recently got roped into Biggest Loser. I watched it, and sort of got fascinated by it, but mainly by the tremendous amounts of weight these people lose.

I hate the whole concept of teams and/or voting people off because they might beat you at losing weight. It would be a lot better if they just got rid of the bottom feeders each week.

i had wipeout on in the background the other day and sort of enjoyed it, mostly because it's fun watching people get their ass kicked.

Some of the contestants are a little over the top, but that just makes it more enjoyable when they get hit in the groin by the suckerpunch wall or do a face plant. The obstacles on that show look pretty punishing.
