After the debate about the Purdue game earlier, I just want to make it clear that I'm not an Illini home when it comes to reffing. Michigan got screwed a couple times, most specifically when Tisdale banged into a guy shooting a layup and there was no call. They weren't a s bad a Aldrich dump trucking that guy from Colorado with no call, but they were definitely fouls.

They were averaging a 7 seed coming into the day according to the Bracket Project matrix, so I'm guessing they're still fine. Another bad loss and they're in trouble though because their wins suck.

Im not sure if there is any way to explain how evansville's two conference wins have come against the top two teams in the league (UNI and Wichita St.), yet the other day they lost to UIC in the bracketbusters

He's at least shown up the last 2 games compared to his complete disappearance in the previous 10. Still not close to last year's level though. This team needs Davis and Paul to be at their best to make any kind of noise

If this the play I remember, both players were moving towards the basket, and the offensive player initiated contact with the shoulder. I like the no call in those in those situations, but it is usually called. It did seem like we had an unusual amount of blocks for as few fouls that were called. And got the benefit of the doubt a lot. If Michigan had shot better, I think this team would have responded with some more intense play. They do play up or down to their competition which Js frustrating.

Born and raised in Lafayette, graduated Purdue in '97, and worked in the athletic department full-time for a couple years after graduating. I was apparently destined to be a Purdue fan from the beginning.

I'm sure they'll get in as a single digit seed thanks to RPI, but as you said they have 2 horrendous losses, and don't have a single good win to balance them out. Old Dominion and Siena is what they're basing their resume on? The bubble looks weak this year, and I'm sure when I check them out, I'll have them in as well, but yeesh, not pretty

So if Purdue wins tonight they essentially lock up a tie for Big Ten Champion. They could lose to Michigan State and still tie with them and Ohio State. I need to look up who would win that tie breaker though as Purdue, in that scenario, would have split with both teams.

 

EDIT: I believe it would be OSU followed by Purdue. Big Ten site says its win percentage against teams in tie and OSU beat MSU in the only time they play this year. So OSU would be 2-1, Purdue 2-2 and MSU 1-2.

This Dayton-Temple game has set basketball back 50 years. It's 39-29 Temple with under 5 minutes left in the game. The halftime score was 19-13. Dayton is shooting 11-47 (23.4%) and Temple 16-48 (33.3%)
