damn, iowa state is kinda good.

 

Just got back from this game. I don't think Drake will be very good this year, but 20 point road wins are the sign of a pretty good team, especially when your center is in foul trouble, one of your forwards has an off night, and your best big man off the bench is out with an injury. Also, Staiger is good at this 3 point thing.

Memphis looks extremely tough tonight. I've been very impressed with how Pastner has gone about preparing his team for this game.

 

Oh and SIU beat D-2 Indianapolis 84-69. Our big OOC game is on Saturday @UNLV. That'll tell a lot about where we stand.

Again it was just missed shots. We had even more open looks than the first game but shot 6-27 from 3. I insist this is a good shooting team. In my opinion better than the last two years which shot 36% from 3.

 

Defense was really good, rebounding is good. Just cannot make an open 3 to save our lives.

for anyone who saw the end of the KU game - was the goal tending call BS? i was there and i didnt have the best view. it just seemed like he was pretty far from the basket. aldrich carried them, if he didnt play i think the tigers win easily.

The goal tending was legit. It actually wasn't even close to not being goal tending. Memphis had no answer for Aldrich and that was the difference.

Puerto Rico Tip-Off today. IU will have a good measuring stick in Ole Miss. The Rebels are kinda like IU hopes to be next year. They have pretty decent talent, but are very guard oriented. All but 43 of their FG attempts have come from players 6'5" and under.

 

The IU guards have to hold their own on the defensive end and get the ball to their bigs on offense. Stay in front of the Ole Miss guards and force them to take long shots. They are not that deep upfront, so Watford, Pritchard, and Elston getting their bigs into foul trouble would go a long way to an upset win.

Were they even able to meet? I know Beal and his team went to the game. I don't know if Self spent any one-on-one time with him. I've heard that Beal's camp doesn't want to talk about recruiting to anyone right now. I've also heard he wants to make a decision soon, and that he's tired of the process.
