Well unless someone trades up with Indy or New Orleans, Clausen still going to end up with Minny probably. Rams have 1st pick in 2nd round and they obviously wont take him, and Minny has 2nd pick. Damnit

Nothing in football is an individual stat

Extra point conversion rate has to be as close as it gets.

Fumbles maybe? Even with bad blocking you can still hold onto the ball.

I agree with the overall point, though, that there is basically no individual stat in football.

You said he was 14th in QB rating making him slightly above average in that stat. You can't have a slightly above average passing attack with a below average QB is what you're telling me?

Umm QB rating is a individual stat. QB rating isn't the end all be all. It's major weakness is that it gives way to much credit for having lots of yards per pass attempt and TD%. Neither of those was Orton particularly good at. He had a good completion percentage and a good TD-INT ratio. He is an average to above-average QB. Saying he is well-blow average is just plain wrong which is what I have been arguing.

QB rating is attributed to an individual, but it is so very team dependent it's unreliable.

It's not very team dependent. Honestly never heard anyone try to say that before. You get a lot of yards and TD's with a great supporting cast but a bad QB is still going to be inaccurate leading to a low completion percentage and interceptions which will kill a QB rating.

If QB rating is so team dependent then how does Big Ben post a 80.1 rating in 2008 with a Super bowl caliber team around him? QB rating is affected some by a team's talent as all stats are but QB rating is one of the least team dependent stats in my opinion.

Carolina would never take Clausen. They've never taken a QB before the 4th round with the current brain trust.

And Ice is a Falcons fan, that's why he wouldn't want it, Snayke.

Oh. Whoops.

Fair point. I suppose if Minnesota wants him they would've thought about that.

And that is why the Vikes traded with Detroit. Plus they have Favre for a year.

God you such a prick arguer. You nit pick to try and win and skew crap.

Yes, nothing is a solely individual stat. Congratulations on such a revelation. There are stats that are generally described as individual stats as I'm sure you know and QB rating is one of them.

Stop nit-picky and being a prick just so you can try and look right. Actually try to have an good, logical argument.

I'm thinking Saints get Mays here. But who really knows at this point. Too many surprises in this draft.

Depends on what their read on Sharper returning is but it would be a very good pick.

Mays isn't really that similar to Sharper, I don't think. Sharper's strength is roaming the field and making plays and the biggest question about Mays is whether he can make plays on the ball. If they want to replace Sharper they should have traded up for Berry or Thomas.

CCP or Exile, please tell me if that was a good pick by the Colts.

I'm not either of them and my opinion probably doesn't mean as much (I don't know the Colts' needs as much as them), but Jerry Hughes is an explosive pass rusher.

How he'll fit exactly, though, I don't know.

Just because they don't play a similar doesn't mean Mays can't fill the void left by Sharper. They need a S not necessarily a Sharper clone.

I almost picked him in the first mock draft that NSBB did. Like Mathis, he's too small to be a 3 down DE consistently. But he'll be a fantastic 3rd pass rusher for their scheme and that really hurt them in the SB. I definitely think it's a good pick.
