It's strange, but I like the Tebow pick for Denver. McDaniels can work very well with QBs (look at Matt Cassell) and if anybody is going to turn Tebow into an NFL QB it's McDaniels. Also, the closest you're going to get in the NFL to Florida's spread offense is Denver, so it'll be less of an adjustment for him.

They shouldn't have given a 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounder to get him though.

Orton is a well-below average NFL QB and Tebow wont be half as good as Orton. That is why it was a terrible move.

Umm no. Do some research. Orton had an 86.8 QB rating this year which was 14th in the league i.e. he an above-average NFL QB. He also had a good completion percentage at 62% and over 3,800 yards.

If Tebow is going to develop, though, McDaniels is the right coach to pair him with. Orton/Quinn can start this year while McDaniels works with Tebow on fixing his mechanics.

That doesn't necessarily mean he's an above average quarterback.

That means that when you take it all together, Denver had an above average passing attack.

If you can win ballgames with a QB who is only accurate up to 10 yards, Orton might be your guy. He is the master of the dump pass. If you need a game changer or someone who can find receivers downfield, Orton is not your guy.

True but a "well-below average NFL QB" could never put up those stats. You can get some yards and not be good but you would have a bad completion percentage and/or bad TD-INT ratio which would kill your QB rating.

Wow the Jets are really beefing up that D. What in the hell was he in when they showed Wilson on TV? 6 foot box?

And [expletive] Clausen to Minny now son of a bitch

Posted
Brady Quinn got 9 starts before the entire league gave up on him. And Tim Tebow goes before Jimmy Clausen. Absolutely ridiculous.

i can't imagine how hard this must be for you

Every NFL team needs someone who can find receivers downfield in 2010.

You said he was 14th in QB rating making him slightly above average in that stat. You can't have a slightly above average passing attack with a below average QB is what you're telling me?

Matt Cassell the one year wonder. Scott Mitchell was really good for one season too.
