it's interesting to see the seemingly lack of interest in buying tickets this year compared to other years. i can remember in '04 it was crazy trying to get tickets, this thread was like a 100 pages long.

i guess a bad economy and now anti-climatic regular seasons will do that.

There's still over 20 games that are already sold out according to the system, so the demand will still be there.

Since the 90's a good portion of the initial demand has been people assuming they can sell for profit on the secondary market. It will be interesting to see how that will work this year, and what kind of prices people can get for those tickets.

The games I'm planning on going to will be easy to get on the secondary market, I assume. So, when I got through I bought six bleachers to the Saturday game versus the Cards in July. I'm actually hoping to convince the family to go to that game as that's around the time we'd be in St. Louis anyway. But, if not, I figure that's a game that will be easy to unload.

People still not receiving their email confirmations?

I ordered the tickets 4 hours ago and still haven't received the email. :-k

45 minutes of nothing...150 tabs open now.

I am going to cry...this sucks.

I gotta stay away from this thread. I want to throw something whenever I read someone that's already gotten tickets to a bunch of games.

Damn man thats crazy, I only had 20 tabs open. This will be my first time ever sitting in the bleachers, Im pumped. Also secondary market for tickets right now is ridiculous.

Hope you plan on getting really drunk in the bleachers. Otherwise, it's going to be extremely annoying for you. I can't stand sitting in the bleachers anymore. It's just one big frat party with people who know nothing about the Cubs or baseball in general.

Yea Ill probably be pretty drunk, but I just couldnt pass up 50 bucks for a bleacher ticket since most weekend bleachers are around 90-100 on the secondary market. Should be fun out there

Ehh, I've never paid more than $75 for a Saturday bleacher game. If you can find some suckers that want to buy for $100, do it.

The problem with you guys is that you think you are upping your odds by opening up a bunch of tabs. Thats one way, but if you really want to spread out your risk, have you and 4 or so friends get on an open up a bunch of tabs. As you've all seen, sometimes you get really lucky, sometimes you don't.

Between me and my friends we got everything we all wanted:

4/13 vs Rockies

6/16 vs Sox

6/21 vs Indians

7/3 vs Brewers

7/11 vs Cards

8/11 vs Phils

8/29 vs Mets

9/14 vs Brewers

And the best part is none of them were bleachers. I don't mind sitting there, but having to get there 2 hours before is just so annoying.

I finally got in and ordered two tickets, but the system wouldn't acknowledge my credit card. After 3 tries with that card and two more with another card, the time expired. Ridiculous - I'll watch them on TV.

It's important to coordinate and communicate if you involve friends, but it is the way to go.

Today we got:

4/13 Rockies

4/18 Cardinals

6/13 Twins

6/16 White Sox

6/17 White Sox

6/18 White Sox

6/20 Indians

6/21 Indians

7/10 Cardinals

7/12 Cardinals

Wish we could have gotten 7/11, but we didn't like the seats that were available when we got in.

It took me 30 minutes to get through the first time, so I missed out on my top two targets. Oh, well.

By the way, take a look at the schedule right now. Many, many sellouts already.

Bleacher tickets going for double face on Ebay, looks like I'm going to be getting all my games for free this year and have some left over to pay for booze in Finland when the Hawks/Panthers open the NHL season in October!

I want to make my annual three-day trip at some point. Would've liked the Cleveland series obviously, but a weekend interleague series isn't the cheapest option.

i really, really hope that you wind up having a bunch of tickets that you can't sell for a profit.

Dumb question but is section 36 going to be mainly in the sunlight for 1:00 P.M. start.

Probably. In my experience, the third base side is the first to get shade.

Also, to the guy asking about section 438, I sat there for a game last year, and it's really not bad if you don't mind looking left the whole time. You can see pretty much everything.

Meh, wound up with a couple tix to the Houston 2-game series in Sept.

Picked up a Brewers 9-pack that includes 2 Cub games. That makes 4. Not bad considering yesterday I didn't even want to walk, much less log on to a computer.

I'm going to bring up this thread next year when karma bites you in the ass.

That's impossible. Demand will be higher than ever to see the Cubs defending their World Series championship!

True but Karma would be him wasting all day staring at 100 open tabs of VWR as every desirable game is sold out ;)
