Let's just all expect to lose on Saturday. It'll make the defeat and/or the impossible win easier to swallow.

Way ahead of you. I'm already looking forward to winter meetings!

The only way I'll be looking forward to the winter meeting is if Hendry dumps most of the gutless a-holes on this team.

Honestly, emotions aside, do you guys really think it's impossible that we come back in this series? Maybe being on the road will let the team relax and they'll start hitting. You know you'll get a solid game from Harden Saturday and hopefully the defense shows up. I know it's not likely, but it is only winning 3 games. I don't expect it to happen, but you never know.

Well........the Red Sox came back from 3-0 down in a 7 game series en route to their drought breaking WS title. I'd imagine if the Cubs do pull it out somehow, we will have had to come back from a similar improbably deficit.

And San Diego did it to us in 1984.....lol. We owe the West Coast one.

It is not impossible but my god, the Cubs seem to have completely imploded on every front possible. I'd feel better I guess if these games were even remotely close.

They won three in a row at home.

Two at home, two at Yankee Stadium.

They did get blown out in their last loss (it was at home) which put them at the brink of elimination: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BOS/BOS200410160.shtml

at least the brewers and sox aren't probably going anywhere

I fully expect the two of them to storm back and meet in the World Series.

They are going to play in the WS with the Brewers winning in 4.

I honestly think the players don't buy into the whole curse and choking as a whole. The problem is every offseason they get the fans and the media brining up 100 years worth of shortcomings and it just wears on them. The fans just go comatose waiting for the worst to happen and even in home games suck the life out of the team.

Actually, I'm drunk and just looking for a reason for optimism.

There is a "curse". It is called 100X more pressure than any other team in the postseason.

Yeah, cause there was no pressure on the Red Sox to win in 2004.

No one said the curse was impossibly to overcome. It just makes things a lot harder.

Our run differential so far in this series is 13.

The combined score of the other 4 games of the playoffs so far is 26

We are getting our asses beaten on our home field.

He meant San Diego.

8 run rally to win the game here.

If we morph into the 2003 Marlins and put Alex Gonzalez at short and a nerd in the seats in left field...It's gonna happen.
