Honestly, emotions aside, do you guys really think it's impossible that we come back in this series? Maybe being on the road will let the team relax and they'll start hitting. You know you'll get a solid game from Harden Saturday and hopefully the defense shows up. I know it's not likely, but it is only winning 3 games. I don't expect it to happen, but you never know.

Well........the Red Sox came back from 3-0 down in a 7 game series en route to their drought breaking WS title. I'd imagine if the Cubs do pull it out somehow, we will have had to come back from a similar improbably deficit.

And San Diego did it to us in 1984.....lol. We owe the West Coast one.

It is not impossible but my god, the Cubs seem to have completely imploded on every front possible. I'd feel better I guess if these games were even remotely close.

They won three in a row at home.

I am fully aware of that, I'm just putting forth an example of a team coming back from 2-0 in a 5 game series. The Cubs are a decent road team this year and Dodger Stadium will have a few Cubs fans I'm sure.

If Harden and Lilly are lights out, we can get his back to Chicago.

Two at home, two at Yankee Stadium.

They did get blown out in their last loss (it was at home) which put them at the brink of elimination: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BOS/BOS200410160.shtml

He meant San Diego.

Ahh, my bad. At least Fontenot has been freed.

If they can come back from this, then they're going to win it all for sure. If not, then I'd rather they lose right away and not get my hopes up.

How can you possibly be capable of getting your hopes up?

If they are going to lose, its less painful to lose in 3. It means you were never good enough and had no chance anyways. 2003 was so painful because you knew the Cubs were going to win the WS if they didn't choke.

I'm convinced the Cubs are just sandbagging because they want this to be a dramatic comeback. Lou has a plan.

me gusta your optimism. I've been really trying to watch but after Fuku's mishap in the potential rally, I'm here on the PC.

We would have killed the Mets.

Maybe if we issued firearms to all the players.

Certainly not with bats and gloves.

Gotta say, this is way more preferable than 2003

Honestly, I almost want to thank them for not getting my hopes up too much.

As good as this team was in the regular season, my hopes were way up this year though.

If a 97-win team can't do any better than a three-game sweep in the NLDS, it's just never going to happen.

They could have amputated Santana's leg prior to the series and he still would have shut out the Cubs in both his starts.

If the Cubs forced a game 5 do you think there's a chance Carlos would get the ball?

It's crazy to think of such hypotheticals, but I'd think that Lou would have to kill Z to get the ball away from him.

I'm not trolling. The point is that playing in front of Cubs fans right now is not helping.
