That Kosuke contract is really going to look terrible next year and in 2010.

The contracts of our aging corner outfielders and infielders are going to look terrible in 2-3 years from now.

I don't expect Zambrano to have a sub 4 ERA again in his career either. His career is following the Livan Hernandez path, too many pitches at a young age with a rapidly falling K rate that catches up to him at a relatively young age even though his BB rate improves. Maybe the strong Cub defense proves me wrong but as a big time fantasy baseball player I cannot imagine drafting him next year at anywhere near his going rate.

PS. I still expect this game to go 5 games even though I still predict the Dodgers win it.

Shows how much he knows. This series is going 3.

even if we were to come back and take this series theres no way we'd make it to the world series let alone win it

just let all the depression sink in

Honestly, emotions aside, do you guys really think it's impossible that we come back in this series? Maybe being on the road will let the team relax and they'll start hitting. You know you'll get a solid game from Harden Saturday and hopefully the defense shows up. I know it's not likely, but it is only winning 3 games. I don't expect it to happen, but you never know.

Well........the Red Sox came back from 3-0 down in a 7 game series en route to their drought breaking WS title. I'd imagine if the Cubs do pull it out somehow, we will have had to come back from a similar improbably deficit.

And San Diego did it to us in 1984.....lol. We owe the West Coast one.

It is not impossible but my god, the Cubs seem to have completely imploded on every front possible. I'd feel better I guess if these games were even remotely close.

They won three in a row at home.

Harden has to go 9 shut out.

Don't worry, we'll compensate for them with rising ticket prices. Recession be damned.

If the 2008 Cubs were the Titanic, Lou and Fukudome would be the band that refuses to stop playing as the ship is sinking them into their eventual doom.

Fukudome would be the iceberg, and Lou would be the captain who couldnt avoid it.

By the way, it should be pointed out how badly Torre outmanaged Lou last inning. instead of going with the lefty vs Fukudome (which would have forced Lou to take Fukudome out) he went with the righty so Lou would leave the auto-out in the game. Of course, Lou sits on his ass and lets Fukudome hit.

I fully expect the two of them to storm back and meet in the World Series.

Let's just all expect to lose on Saturday. It'll make the defeat and/or the impossible win easier to swallow.

Way ahead of you. I'm already looking forward to winter meetings!
