No letdown please. I'm expecting less than the 34 points the Falcons scored against the Lions defense yesterday, but I'm still hoping for at least 28 (and a win of course).

So who else is excited for Round 1 in the battle for last place in the AFC West?

I have a bad feeling about my brownies. :(

what did you put in them ... thank you thank you I know I'm just too darn funny like Jerry Seinfeld.

As for the week big game for my Niners. Got to avoid going 0-2 and 0-2 in divisional games. Good chance at getting to see it as the only other NFC game at that time is Atlanta/Tampa and Miami/Arizona.

Oh and I'm also looking forward to Favre giving the Patriots their first regular season loss in forever.

I don't say this very often, but go Patriots.

Week 2 is always the most interesting week. I think this week can make or break a team and determine who they really are.

Of the 16 teams that are 0-1, EIGHT of them looked absolutely pathetic (Rams, Lions, Texans, Raiders, Bengals, Browns, Miami (moreso on reputation), and Seattle). If these teams have a repeat performance, their seasons are probably devoid of hope after just 2 weeks.

Playoff hopefuls (Redskins, Bucs, Jags, and Chargers) are playing teams that looked really good last week, while the 0-1 Colts and Vikings play each other. At least 1 and possibly 5 of these teams will dig an 0-2 hole.

A couple of last year's middle of the pack teams are looking to compete this year (Bears, Panthers, Eagles, Jets, Broncos, Saints, and Bills) are trying to show they are legit contenders.

I'd probably normally take Tampa Bay at home against Atlanta in my suicide pool, but with Ike looming in the gulf, I think I'll stay away from games that might have weather related issues. Especially considering how strong of a performance Michael Turner turned in last week.

I don't like to pick teams on the road, but I just don't like any other home teams this week, so I'm going to go with the New York Giants at St. Louis.

I think I am going to have to be at the bar before 5 to get a good seat for Monday. Hope McNabb remembers how to suck. What's the over/under for the game?

What sort of weather are you expecting Ike to create in Tampa on Sunday?

Talk about double-whammies. The Vikes just got beat by the Packers, and now they have to go face an angry Peyton Manning and Freeney.

Only one early game involving 2 undefeated teams, and it's 2 of the 3 biggest underdogs from week 1. I wonder if Fox is considering making it the featured game of the week. Doubtful, but there aren't any other games that are obviously more interesting.

I could see Indy/Minnesota being the featured game, as both were expected to contend this year and probably still are, and one of them will go 0-2.

Heavy wind and rain. But, it's sounding like Florida might be in the clear from this storm. Maybe I will take Tampa. I have a few more days before I need to submit my pick.

Every forecast I've seen has Ike in Mexico or Texas by Sunday.
