And CC's out for the ninth. Awesome.

Ned Yost: The gift that keeps on giving.

And FWIW, I didn't even want Theriot up there.

Give us a shot with someone who at least has a shot at an XBH.

Why does this team insist on going through these useless phases?

To keep us from getting too optimistic. It's working on me.

"You rarely see Ryan Theriot see a called third strike... Number one because its NOT A STRIKE!..." - Bob Brenly.

Bob's been whining about the zone all day. It's not a good zone at all, but that was a strike.

If it looks like it hit the right side of the plate, then it was well inside.

Was it worth burning Theriot to go to another pinch-hitter though? In the 6th, I'd have to lean towards no.

Useless phase? We're probably about to lose a second game in a row after winning 7 in a row.

Oh, and we're finishing up a what, 20 win month?

Which is why I really want somebody who's a righty with power to be on the postseason roster. I just don't know who it could be other than sorting through Craig, Dubois, and Fox, and hoping you get lucky.

I don't think anyone has a shot considering we have hit one XBH in the last 3 games.

Brewers win 7-0.

CC throws 117 pitches (a disappointing 8 in the ninth inning) in a complete game.

Brewer's appealing to try and make it a no-hitter. It was an error.

I wonder if enough dumbass writers are out there to give Sabathia the Cy Young. If Webb doesn't finish strong, I'm thinking it's gonna happen.

I don't think he should win the Cy, but he's been easily the best pitcher in the NL during the time he's been in the NL

Rule #1 of the BBWAA, there are always enough dumbass writers out there to make something happen. It's not coincidence that the association was headed by Schmuck for two years.

So CC is over worked because he averages a few more pitches per game? The entire top 20 on the list averages over 100 per game. So my question is the same as before. How is he more overworked than the others on the list. But the two cubs on the list are not? And a cub just missed a start for a dead arm? So some stat says that he pitches more than others and that is why he is overworked? Give me a break. Whatever makes fans of other teams feel good I guess. Most of the pitchers on that list are just good and pitch deeper into games. Shame on them for pitching more than others. The media has totally brain washed people into thinking the arm can't pitch more than a 100 now.

As for his playoff stats. Why is that deadarm? Maybe you just face really, really good competition and that has something to do with it?

I can't wait for Cliff Lee to win the AL Cy Young because he ends up with something like 22 wins and 2 losses.

I wouldn't say easily. Harden's right there with him in terms of ERA and WHIP (was actually leading coming into today) but CC obviously throws more innings.

You're right.

It's smart for Yost to keep running your best pitcher out there for complete games in 6 or 7 run games.

Soriano isn't slumping per say but he's not nearly at his best right now:

Last 21 games: .261 .343 .420 .763

???

Last 8 games: .333/.405/.545/.950
