What do you guys think of John Hollinger's draft analysis where he uses college stats to predict their eventual value?

I never was a big fan but they seem especially wacky this year.

what did he say about Morrison and Redick when they were drafted?

Redick needs to get the hell out of Orlando. He has no future on that team. I think he could become a decent role player, but it has to be the right situation.

If he can't play as a spot up shooter on a team with the best low post player in basketball, where would he succeed?

Even though I'm a Bulls fan, I can't wait to see Beasley drafted #2, or hell, maybe #3 based off what I've read today. He'll make whomever doesn't pick him realize the mistake they made a year or two down the line, and I'll laugh and say I told you so.

I want to think that the Beast will be as good as he looked in college, I keep having Derrick Coleman nightmares. A good player, but not one that ever did what he should have.

the problem is that they already have two perimeter players whose job it is to score in Turkoglu and Lewis.

I get that, but shooting is maybe the toughest thing to find in the league. There is no question he could do that. SO why can't he even get on the court? Especially on a team that really doesn't have a two guard. The two you mentioned are still post players. I really think that Reddick is just this generation's Alford.

There's a difference between being able to shoot and being able to create a shot in the nba. I have no doubt that he can sit outside the 3-point line and drain jumpers all night long, but i dont think he's quick, agile or strong enough to get his shot off in the league.

FYI, Derrick Coleman's first 5 years.

90-91: 18.4 PPG, 10.3 RPG

91-92: 19.8 / 9.5

92-93: 20.7 / 11.2

93-94: 20.2 / 11.3

94-95: 20.5 / 10.6

The Nets traded him after 95. He hurt his knee and got fat....and that was it. Any team should kill for numbers like that out of Beasley in his first 5 years.

Yeah, I got jumped on for a Coleman comparison earlier, but Beasley would probably be lucky to be as good as Coleman was before he started smoking pot or whatever

Just mark me down as wanting to draft the next Chris Paul, and not the next Derrick Coleman.

Jose (Anaheim CA): What are your thoughts of running the fast break for the Bulls (with Thomas, Noah, Deng, Gordon)? P.S. please Derrick, never get a motorcycle.

Derrick Rose: It's really scary. It would be a scary fast break. Just know that. And I don't like motorcycles.

I would draft Rose, too.

I still think Rose, with his ability to penetrate and get to the basket (and draw contact), is going to be more like a Wade than these other great PG's he's being compared to....and I'd have no problem with that at all.

Jermaine O'neal is going to Toronto for TJ Ford, RASHO, and the #17 pick.

Is this official? I've heard the rumors, but can't seem to find any confirmation.

Actually, it's not. Crap! I didn't read the whole article. I guess it's "near".

The latest rumor I've heard today is that it is off, but I haven't heard anything for 2 hours or so.

At this point, Rose can pretty much turn into one of about a dozen different things. That's part of what makes him so attractive.

That's a pretty steep price for O'Neal. I know the Cavs were linked to him, I'm glad not at that price.

O'Neal was worth that price 3 or 4 yrs ago, but not anymore with his salary. That said, I get why the Raptors are interested in him. Someone has to take the pressure off of Bosh up front. If he plays with some heart, he could make Toronto a very tough out come playoff time.

Ford is underrated, IMO. He would certainly solve the Pacers PG issues, they'd be left with no inside presence other than Granger.

This would also take away a potential Hinrich suitor.

Yeah, TJ Ford is a solid PG.

Speaking of NBA rumors before the draft, did you see the report about Billups and Rasheed for Baron and Al Harrington? That has to be fabricated, right? Please reassure me.

Some Pistons fans have soured a little on Billups and would love Baron. I don't see it. I like Baron but with his injuries and the fact that I think he's a poorer decision maker, I don't see it as an upgrade. There is something to be said for changing things up and being upset with how Chauncey has finished the last couple of years but...

Oh and Sheed for Harrington makes no sense at all. The only way it makes any kind of sense is if it's for Biedrins.

It doesn't seem like a Joe D move. To me the only logic of trading Billups is to acquire help inside if you trust Stuckey to run things and acquire a better backup PG.

It's not gonna happen.

And I'll echo the TJ Ford love. I hated him in college, but he's pretty damn solid

Bosh and O'Neal in the same paint would be a sight to behold, when healthy.

The Pistons would certainly be worse with that trade, but I'd love it so I could get to watch B diddy more often.

Noted. We should still take Rose.

Agreed. The Bulls will be the only team not regretting taking Beasley.
