It's amazing that the 88 MPH fastball down the middle of the plate is getting rocked.

Volquez definitely seems willing to give us some baserunners today. Will we take advantage? Looking doubtful

At the very worst they'll get to the pen earlier and get rid of a good pitcher

Unless they have a manager that played in the early 70's and thinks a pitcher should go the distance no matter how old he is.

We used to have a manager like that................

PS Who didn't see that this was a bad matchup like last week????...........Besides Lou I mean

Are there any managers that don't suck because I want one of those

Is anyone suprised with this? Lieber isn't very good anymore.

But, when Thom Brennaman was going off about catchers exceeding expectations and implying steroid use, he probably should look in his dugout too.

that whole skip hill in the rotation then send him down after he sucks plan has worked out wonderfully.

Well before we did it we had a 2 game lead, now our pitching has been terrible and we are dropping like a rock. Mission accomplished Lou.

Ridiculous, it's not like Bako spent two years with the Cubs and hit 1 combined homer or anything.

Yeah, Lieber gets killed by lefties and all. Dunn and Votto owning him isn't surprising but holy crap, it's Paul Freaking Bako.

Quick question: You previously mentioned how you didn't think Cedeno's swing couldn't translate in the MLB, extraordinarily small sample size of this year aside, do you still think he can be successful in the majors?

Sure. I think his success is mostly because he's just laying off those pitches he can't hit. I think it looks like he's tightened his swing up a bit, but I think his approach has really, really helped. That's probably the biggest thing - he's waiting for those pitches he can hammer, and he's doing it.

Certainly, I am more than happy to be wrong about Cedeno if he keeps this up. I sure hope he does.
