Win without your ace on the mound and you'll go back to being the Cubs.

Jon Lieber: 2-1, 1.86 ERA

Jon makes his first start of the year.

Edinson Volquez: 4-1, 1.27 ERA

Did they really spell his name wrong on the card? That's bad.

Please Cobs, have a game like this. Don't let it be like this.

Hey Lou, remember to start Pie and Cedeno.

I'll wait until after Lieber's second start to see how he's adjusted to the rotation. I'm worried about the matchup with all the left-handed power of the Reds.

Guys, a mistake was made. Gallagher is obviously the one who is gonna start. That makes so much more sense than starting Lieber. Lou wouldn't make a bad decision!

Well, Ronny came through w/ a big hit tonight.. I suppose that means he'll be rewarded w/ a week's worth of rest on the bench.

Oh, and yes, Lieber will get crushed. Hope the bats are hot; this scoring a measly 3 runs is tough to take w/ all these guys we're getting on base.

I'm excited to actually have a day game for once, they seem to be few and far between this year. That and I'm done with my finals, I'll probably wake up to watch this one.

I'm just glad we won yesterday to avoid the sweep! The only way we win this game is if dusty rest's griffey and dunn.

Cedeno went 1-4 with only 2 measily RBI. That should keep him on the bench for another few weeks.

2 in a row would be sweet going into the 7 games with Arizona and San Diego. Maybe Im asking for too much though.

Arizona scares me. They always give us fits, even when they were lousy. Now that they're the best team in baseball, I'll be praying we can find a way to avoid a sweep.

I hope Lieber pitches well. Lets see shades of 2001 Lieber today!

i wonder if soto will be rested with the day game after night game. i know there is an off day tomorrow, but Lou may want to rest him even though the Cubs will likely need his offense today. i guess i could understand either decision.

do we have an idea of who Arizonas pitching against us? If Randy Johnsons in the equation, Cubs may as well take the day off.

MLB has Haren (vs. Lilly), Scherzer (vs. Demps), and Johnson vs. Z

I'm not afraid of that last matchup at all.

1st match scares me to death. Depends on which Lilly we get.

2nd one too. Cubs usually dont have much luck the first time facing the latest rookie sensation.

3rd one, we have the clear advantage, but I cant remember the last time we beat Randy Johnson. Granted this is a much older, more broken down Unit, but the history is still there.

I heard about a Zambrano vs. Johnson matchup.

Isn't Johnson something like 13-0 against us lifetime?
