Winning is the ultimate deoderant, but the LOB totals for some of the Cubs in this game is staggering.

Look at the LOB percentages. When you're getting on base as much as the Cubs have been, you're going to leave more on the bases on average. They may have left a lot of runners on today, but they've also scored 8 runs.

My theory on that is this: so many guys on base, eventually somebody's gonna knock 'em in. If they have 20 guys on base every game, they only have to get 4-5 of them in to win most of the time. I'll take it.

That's just what happens when you get so many men on base!

When ya put up 7s and 8 on a daily basis, those totals don't seem so bad.

Ronny Cedeno is personally ruining Kerry Woods' save total.

I heard Ronny's opponent in fantasy baseball this week has Wood. I think that explains it.

That's what happens when you clog the bases! :)

Team has 8 BBs and 14 hits today. We're not used to seeing LOB totals b/c we're not used to having so many base runners. If Cedeno goes 2/5 every day with 5 RBI, he can leave 7 guys on base and I won't give a rip.

I think I've read that the once the Cubs get Wood warm, they will definitely use him in a game. But I have to imagine that if they break through here in the 8th, it could be worthwhile not to use him here.

So what's it going to be?

Too bad the Orioles (and Peace, Belkast and Bib Bird) didn't want Cedeno.

Brian who?

How many times has a player had 5 RBI's and 7 LOB in the same game?

The Cubs are getting on base at just a ridiculous rate.

Ha, I just checked the box score as I don't have CSN, and I saw it was 4-1. Then the page refreshes, and it's 8-1. I look down to see what happened:

- R.Cedeno homered to left on a 0-1 count, D.Lee scored, Fukudome scored, DeRosa scored.

Needless to say, I just busted my keyboard in joy :D

Yeah, I'm too busy to do the analysis right now, but I'm pretty sure there's a high correlation between LOB totals and run totals.
