Game is on at the same exact time of the Democrat Debate. Bleh.

Ooo, I didn't even know there was a political debate on tonight. What channel?

So I'll be flipping from the Cubs, the Bulls last game (yes I'm a glutton for punishment and fiercely loyal through thick and thin), and this debate. Fun night ahead!

Damn, wish I could watch... anyone wanna PM me their MLB.TV info? ;)

Only if you can be watching and I can be listening at the same time. I'm not sure if it'll let us. Are there any games on right now that we could test it out with?

I wouldn't try it. I bet MLB checks IP's with their system and if they see 2 using the same account they will probably lock the account down.

Ugh... Murton isn't brought up, Fontenot is gonna lead-off, AND Pie sits vs. a meatballing RH pitcher... Great job Cubs

I wouldn't mind. The only reason I still have it is because it automatically renews itself. I don't put money in the account that it draws out of, and they haven't charged it yet (though I did put enough money in it to cover it if they do decide to pull it out some day).

So, I think I'm getting it for free. I've had other people use the account before, just never at the same time to listen to the same game.

The Cubs suck. Theriot near the top of the order? DeRo in LF? Pie already benched?

Ridiculous.

I don't mind the DeRosa in LF and Fontenot at 2nd. With the current roster and the way those two are hitting so far this season, putting both of them in the lineup right now is a decent idea.

I wish Pie was in tonight though because I really feel like he could hit Fogg well. Fogg doesn't strike a lot of people out, and Pie could really use some at-bats against a pitcher who struggles and doesn't have good enough stuff to easily get him out.

If you're going to put Johnson in against any right-handers, do it for the ones who can easily make Pie chase any pitch out of the zone. Don't do it for Fogg.

I just thought of something though. We have no idea how Pie is feeling right now. It may not be a factor at all, but it may be considering his collision last night. It could also be a reason that the Cubs want Patterson over Murton. Of course, this is the Cubs, and that probably makes too much logical sense to actually be the reason, but you never know for sure.

Never underestimate how poor of a lineup we can construct with any given team. You could try to do worse, but it would pretty much just involve sliding Reed in at the 3-hole, so instead of only having the 2 worst hitters going in a row at the top of the order, you would now have the 3 worst. But hey, as Meatloaf said, two out of three ain't bad.

The smallest guys should hit first!! Smart!!

So I am not just whining, here is what I would do (other than call up murt obv):

DeRosa

Dome

Lee

Ramirez

Soto

Fontenot

Johnson/Theriot hell who cares they both suck vs RHP

This would probably be a case where Z 8th would come out better in the simulation, with Riot hitting 9th as a second leadoff guy, but most importantly one who has one less AB than the actual leadoff guy.

you could also do Dome/DeRo reversed in 1-2, or have the top 6 be Dome/Lee/Rami/Soto/Font/DeRo, basically....anything other than what we did.

I get it... the only way to beat Dusty lineup is to run a Dusty lineup out there against it.

According to ESPN radio, Felix was complaining last night in the locker room about injuring his left hand on that catch. According to them, he was feeling pretty rough. My guess is that this has a lot more to do with that.

I wonder if this has something to do with why it looked like he couldn't catch up with any of Harang's pitches?

That would be more like it. The hand has nothing to do with it. Lou said he was going to spend 2-3 days working with Pie to shorten his swing. The two worked together Wednesday, with Piniella engaging in some pretty animated discussion with Pie.
