It looks like Erik Bedard will either get a bunch of money to stay in Baltimore or he will indeed be traded. But there's no certainty that he will end up in Seattle.

 

MLB.com could not reach Bedard or his agent, Mark Pieper, for comment Wednesday. But on Thursday, Pieper released a statement vehemently denying that Bedard will enter into contract discussions with Baltimore.

 

"The report that appeared yesterday regarding Erik Bedard on MLB.com is wholely inaccurate and contains nothing factual," Pieper said. "Quite honestly, that type of journalism is irresponsible and reckless."

According to ESPN.com, the Orioles have gone back to the Mariners for written language that Seattle will submit Adam Jones and George Sherrill for physical examinations.

 

It looks like the Erik Bedard trade is still getting done. Bedard's agent, Mark Pieper, said there was absolutely no truth to the MLB.com report that he and the Orioles had resumed discussing a long-term extension. "The report that appeared yesterday regarding Erik Bedard on mlb.com is wholly inaccurate and contains nothing factual," Pieper wrote in an email to the Seattle Times. "Quite honestly, that type of journalism is irresponsible and reckless."

If the mariners fix the paperwork this afternoon i would imagine Sherill and Jones would get check by the orioles tomorrow and then the deal would get announced. Anyway i can't imagine what the reaction would be in here if Roberts gets traded to the indians the next day after Bedard is gone.
