congrats to the rose bowl on picking the big 10-pac 10 matchup. you got exactly what you deserved: a blowout and probably a lot of changed channels very early. now for va-tech to destroy kansas and that will be that.

I don't think Mizzou would have done a whole lot better, if that's what you are insinuating.

i'm really sick of reading all of the complaining from mizzou fans and how they got screwed out of a better bowl game...get over it already....oh yea, and don't lose your conference championship by 3 scores next time...maybe then you won't get passed up for a bcs game.

(Sarcasm ahead)

Great complaint. Perhaps you would've preferred a USC/Arizona St. matchup? Give us a break. The Rose Bowl got the two teams that were eligible and who could bring fans. You need to blame W.Virginia and Missouri for losing. Had one or both of them won, then Ohio St. would've been in Pasadena. The Rose Bowl will, if able to, always try to match up the Big Ten vs. the Pac-10. Just as the Sugar Bowl, when able, will try to get the SEC champ and the Orange Bowl will, when able, get the Big 12 champ. Again, congrats to Missouri for playing in a January bowl game. Hopefully,it won't be another forty years. Maybe next time when you're ranked #1 you won't lose by 21 on a true neutral field.

I'm pretty confident in saying Missouri wouldn't have lost to USC by 32 points. USC would have been favored but it likely would have been a 10-15 point game rather than a complete blowout.

Agree with this assessment.

I've been over it for awhile, but thanks. I came to terms with the Cotton Bowl a long time ago and while I obviously wanted a BCS game, IMO the Cotton Bowl is the next best thing. I'm also unbelievably happy with how the team came out and dominated today. At the beginning of the year I said we'd win 10 games and win the North, but I never said anything about getting a New Years bowl. I'm more than completely happy with this season and the direction of the program. But again, thanks for the advice.

Was this game more or less of a foregone conclusion beatdown than last year's ND/LSU Sugar Bowl?

I figure my feeling of 'hope for the sake of hope even though we're gonna get killed' for that game was about the same as Illinois's this year.

i know you can say this about a lot of games, but there were a few plays up to this point that went usc's way that were extremely lucky and would have changed the complexion of the game.

Yeah, probably would have made it 49 - 23.

To be fair, it could have easily been half that if not for two fumbles right on the verge of scoring TD's.

USC was going to win no matter what, but the game wasn't as bad as the score made it look until the 4th.

Illinois probably cost themselves at least 17 points because of turnovers and stupid plays. I dont think they are in USC's league but I think the game was not quite as bad as the final score.

Well Illinois lost like everybody expected. Am I pissed? Nope. The future looks bright for the Illini. Their D looked pretty good out there today, but when you are on the field the majority of the game you will give up big plays. Playcalling was horrendous today 3rd and long and we continued running screens the entire 1st half. Illinois shouldve went to McGee at some point.

With that said Ive never seen a game where every single bounce went one way. It was truly amazing.

Also, Ive never seen a group of more classlass arrogant prick bastards then USC. Wow

Didn't MU barely squeeze by Illinois earlier this year? In a game where our starting quarterback played two series before he got hurt? Yeah you guys would have killed USC. Beat OU just once this year and you would have been playing for the title.

Barely squeezed by? We were up 24 points late in the the 3rd quarter. The Illini made it close because at that point the Tigers stopped focusing on scoring and started running the clock out. And your backup QB played much better than Juice did before he got hurt in the 2nd quarter, so that excuse doesn't hold any water.

People said Mizzou would kill USC? I know for a fact we wouldn't even beat USC, but we would've done better than that.

USC is better than OK, and we all know how well Mizzou fared against OK.

No they arent.

USC healthy at home is better than OK. USC is probably the best team in the nation when healthy.

Without a doubt.

Anyway, you know those stories about guys who come into a lot of money and then go crazy because they aren't used to it and they buy [expletive] crap and blow it all? That's how I feel about MIzzouri fans. "WE WERE GOOD HOLY CRAP WE'RE THE BEST WE'RE THE BEST BOWL GAMES BABY TAKE ON DA WORLD"
