anyway, pretty disappointed in hawai'i. They aren't as good as georgia but i think they were better than they showed yesterday. they have a rhythm-based offense, and i think the layoff hurts them more than it hurts most teams. there just seemed to be a lot of miscommunication between brennan and his receivers.

 

Hawaii's offensive tackles couldn't handle Georgia's DE's either. Brennan faced a ton of pressure last night.

 

true, hawai'i had some incredibly slow fatties. the georgia DE's were treating them like turnstiles - beating them outside and then once the tackles tried to block outside, georgia's ends would just fake out and go in. it wasn't a matter of strength, but speed.

im sure people have already mentioned this, but i absolutely hate the fact that fox gets to broadcast these games. the production, announcers, camera views, and lack of replays are just abysmal. these games should be on abc. i mean fox doesnt do one damn college football game all year long, and it definitely shows in the crap fest of a production they put on.

:lol: I'm just doing it because I'm bored and don't care about most of these games. And I really don't care about the money. My philosophy is that if you don't have it to lose, don't bet it.

 

I haven't done too bad. I won taking the Bears (Chicago Bears that is), on the over in the Cal/AF, and on the over in the Rose Bowl.

 

What hurts were that my two biggest bets were BC-5 (they won by 3 and could/should have kicked a field goal at the end) and Kentucky -7.5 (they won by 7). Both of those were soooooooooo close, but thats what the lines are all about.

I only watched one BCS game on TV last year (my car trip to the Sugar Bowl precluded me from catching any of the others), and you are right. This network is annoying me.

i saw that. as soon as i heard it was pat summerall and brian badinger i pretty much bashed my head through a wall. and they didnt disappoint during the game. i mean my gosh how can balldinger have a freakin job? hes abysmal. my favorite part was when he said that missouri "defensed" a play. defensed? wtf? are you serious? how about, gee i dont know, defended? and i dont care if defensed is actually a word. normal people say defended. if mizzou was losing that game i probably woulda lost my mind losing to those idiots.

These Fox announcers are embarassing. It sounds a little like Matt Vasgersian, and if that is the case, my hatred for this booth is more justified. He's awful at everything.

 

Brent Musberger and Kirk Herbstreit are the benchmark for announcers today.

 

Brad Nessler is also really good.

 

And I know he was becoming a caricature of himself, but hearing Keith Jackson do the Rose Bowl in his final years still sends chills down my spine. His calming voice just oozed "big game."
