I was just IMing a friend of mine in Baltimore who is saying he's hearing on the radio that the rumor now is that Angelos has likely killed the deal. Anyone hearing anything similar through a more legit source?

Maybe that is truth because of this :

The indians have offered Franklin Gutierrez and Adam Miller for Roberts per Bruce Levine on espn 1000 last night.

With the indians now having an offer on the table maybe AM wants to create a bidding war. If he wants to play this game the cubs should just walk away. Roberts is a good player but i wouldn't go higher than Gallagher- Murton- Cedeno for him and that is assuming De Rosa plays SS. If De Rosa is going to be on the bench i am not thrilled about this trade either. Getting Peralta to play SS makes much more sense because it would fill the real hole the team has which is SS although Peralta isn't a good fielder he at least has power and would be an improvement over Theriot.

Herein lies the problem. Hendry wants a speedy, lefty hitting top of the order guy and Roberts fits his description. Peralta does not. Nor does Khalil Greene.

Hendry cannot see the forest through the trees. Hendry cannot see that we don't really need a speedy lefty hitting top of the order hitter. WE NEED A GOOD SHORTSTOP, and Theriot ain't that guy. And if and or when he trades Cedeno for Roberts, he may have actually gotten rid of "THAT" guy.

Oh sweet Jesus. The O's would be dumb to turn that down.

I wish I could resize it and fit it on my sig without it being too big.

Gerry Fraley, of SportingNews.com, reports if the Baltimore Orioles trade 2B Brian Roberts to the Chicago Cubs, they would want Cubs OF Felix Pie included in the deal.

I was always fine with DeRosa at 2B, but now I'm much finer with it.

I had some faith in the Orioles insiders at first but everytime they mention, Pie,Hill or Marmol all I can do is laugh are reliable sources have said all offseason there's no way any of those guys are being dealt for Brian Roberts.

He's got to be kidding. That would be a horrible deal.

I know you have to give something to get something, but theyre getting ridiculous..Roberts is good, but not great..The package of Marshall,Gallagher, and Cedeno is more than enough for him..They say they wanna rebuild over there, but theyre demands are crazy..They want way to much for any of their players

Yeah, it would be a horrible deal. But, I'd also like to point out that in a deal for Roberts, Pie would be a principle asset in a deal, not someone that you would include or throw in to get a deal done. So, I think this is a bit bogus as well.

marshall and gallagher are fair considering what the indians have offered

i would take our deal personally...although i would be a little hard to pass up on adam miller

It would be nice if both sides just called it a dead deal and moved on.

Miller has some red flags to worry about. He got shut down last year because of some problems with his elbow.

But, what do I care. I hope someone else gets him at this point, because I don't want Roberts if the cost is Marshall, Gallagher and Cedeno.

If this deal doesn't go through, I'm assuming the next logical move (from Hendry's point of view) is to still go after Figgins, but to look at him to start at 2B instead of CF.
