Hendrickson formerly of LA would be a better option than Lieber.

 

Is he that giant lefthander?

 

Doesn't he have a tougher time than Lieber striking guys out and keeping them off base? He may be healthier and younger, but I'm not sure he's much of an option. Is he that much more of a ground ball pitcher or something?

He has improved his K ratio over the last 3 years, last year as a starter it was 6K per 9IP.

 

He did well as a reliever last year and was just horribly unlucky as a starter, 73 singles in 236 ABs is extremely high.

 

Before that he was an effective btm of the rotation and will likely return to that.

 

Deceptive lefty with a FB, change-up, cutter, and curve. Doesn't throw hard, throw strikes. Typical btm of the rotation type of guy.

But big goofy lefties like this only do well if they get to do it against the Cubs.

I was just IMing a friend of mine in Baltimore who is saying he's hearing on the radio that the rumor now is that Angelos has likely killed the deal. Anyone hearing anything similar through a more legit source?

If true, that organization is a joke, and if I were MacPhail, I'd resign immediately.

 

The first clue that the Orioles' organization is a joke was that they actually hired Andy MacPhail to a position of responsibility in their baseball operations.
