Rich Rod fired all the Michigan assistant coaches today. Looks like it's a complete house cleaning in Ann Arbor. Hope we don't lose McGuffie because of this.

UCLA interviewed Oregon's Mike Bellotti!!! Wowow!

And it sounds like he's going to decide in the next 72 hours...enough time for him to use the UCLA offer to leverage a better contract out of Nike U boosters.

Dew, get excited. I know I am. Norm Chow pulled his name out of consideration for the UCLA job. :D

Supposedly Temple HC Al Golden got an interview yesterday on campus. Weird.

Truff, it's good to hear Harbaugh is a good DB coach and I'm sure that's why he even got an interview but I want no part in a head coach who doesn't even have DC experience (let alone HC experience).

:D \:D/ =D>

Finally! After losing two coaches at UT in the past week (Cutcliffe and Trooper Taylor) it's nice to know Chow will be back with the Titans next year.

Now to get Kippy Brown in Knoxville and pray he can convince Terrelle Pryor that Tennessee is the right place.

Bellotti got himself a bigger contract and is staying in Eugene. :(

Seems to be the theme around college football these days.

Don't worry, apparently Dick Rod had a change of heart on Fred Jackson......I wonder why??

Well, that's what a few papers in Oregon are reporting. It appears as though Bellotti only released a statement saying he was 100% committed to Oregon. No verification that he even got a raise.

No change of heart. In his presser RR stated he doesnt 'retain' current staff, he rehires them; he reinterated that today. Did the same thing at WVU. 2 other guys are also reported to be 'rehired'.

Apparently Dewayne Walker has accepted the d-coordinator position at the University of Miami. This can't be good for that UCLA recruiting class.

Where did you hear it?

A good coaching hire keeps most of the recruiting class together. I'm just glad he won't be the next HC (if true). :D

It's on the Miami message boards from a "very good source", so definitely not the best source of information.

DeWayne Walker out of the running for the UCLA HC job. The Bruins are vigorously going after Texas Tech HC Mike Leach but rumblings are that his price tag might be too steep.

SIU hired Dale Lennon today. Lennon previously coached North Dakota in Division II and won the school's only national title. He made them a national power and amassed a .798 winning percentage there. North Dakota is moving to I-AA this year which is why I'm surprised that we were able to land him. Very good hire for us :D

Heard something about Mallett maybe looking into a transfer after the bowl game as he may not really fit into Rod's offense scheme. If that happened he better find a way to get Terrelle Pryor to Ann Arbor.

Ugh. English and Roof are both headed to Louisville. I was hoping Roof would be a DC candidate for us and stay available for a while longer. Oh, well. At least we actually beat Stanford AND Boston College for a recruit this weekend, which is a relatively big deal for us right now.
