From Mgoblog.com (the same site that broke the Carr news days before anyone else, as well as many others but not as noteworthy). Take that Bill Conlin you no news breaking SOB.

I've sat on this a couple days waiting for some third-party corroboration and now I have it: Kirk Ferentz has been offered the Michigan job. The general feeling is he will turn it down out of fidelity to Iowa.

I don't have multiple sources on, so consider this not 100% reliable, but logical: Grand Valley's athletic director has been contacted by a Michigan representative doing due diligence on Brian Kelly.

Grand Valley's AD has been contacted by another athletic director doing background checks on Kelly. His name? Kevin White. His school? Notre Dame.

Why would Kelley take a step down and coach Michigan or Notre Dame?

So people learn how to spell his name.

Gotta proof read, good call.

I go back and fourth on rather Kirk Ferentz is actually a good coach. He rarely gets the Hawks up for games they should easily win, but eh... I dunno. If Michigan wants him, they can have him.

How has that Syracuse football team been lately Cuse?

By the way, I'd be furious if Michigan hired Ferentz, but it really wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Missouri is No. 1 in the new AP Poll though they and West Virginia predictably split first place votes. They're followed by Ohio State, Georgia, LSU.

Personally I think LSU should have dropped behind Kansas since their loss was to an unranked team at home and Kansas lost to the new No. 1 team at a neutral site.

Illinois #15 and Hawaii #11. I like.

Tennessee is right ahead of Illinois, so if they lose in the SEC Title game, Illinois would at least move up to #14 in the AP Poll. Hopefully they can get up to #14 in the BCS.

Notre Dame has been killing UM in head to head recruiting this year so it doesn't surprise me they would make up anything to try to sway some of the recruits. Les Miles will take the Michigan job and Bo Pelini will step in at LSU.

Hopefully bad enough to get a coach that isn't overwhelmed and confused.

I've heard rumblings that Cuse may be looking at Illinois O-coordinator Locksley for HC. Have you heard anything about that?

Wise guy! What do you guys know of Locksley? Where is he from?

I believe Locksley has ties to the DC area as he is one of the Illinis main recruiters for that area. He was very instrumental in getting Benn, and Vontae Davis to commit to the Illini, and at least 1 or 2 more in next years class. Not sure how he would do as a head coach, but hes definatly a good recruiter. I would hate for the Illini to lose him, but I think we would be fine.

I'd like to have a guy that has some solid ties around the east and it looks as if he would. Thanks for the info!

I wonder if he's related to Jersey because Locksley's wife might be his sister in law.

Yeah and independant blogger would be making up information about his sources as a way to sway recruits. Killing Michigan in recruiting is just as outrageous. UM has a top 10 class according to Rivals and top 5 according to Scout.com. If thats getting killed then i wonder what the other 110 teams in college feel like.

I fail to see how he's any better than Carr. He failed to sustain any level of success @ Iowa -- ultimately his coaching stint there has been a failure, they showed some signs a couple years ago but since then have really stepped back.

Why wouldn't he? He's been wrong a bunch of times yet people still post his stuff. All it takes is one major news organization to pick up on this rumor and it gains life. If he's dead wrong, it's just another time that that's been the case. Also notice I said Notre Dame has been killing them in head to head recruiting. Of the 15 players on scout that showed offers from both Notre Dame and Michigan, Notre Dame got 14 of them. I'd say that's getting killed.

Well, it looks like either a Music City, Independence, or my fav. the Chick-fil-a bowl. The sad thing a win yesterday might've been an Outback Bowl.

Dobson, be happy you're there while they're winning. Hopefully, the basketball team could do as well as they did 10 years ago.

Locksley is a very good offensive coordinator, but he's an even better recruiter. It is only a matter of time before he gets a head coaching job somewhere in division 1.

Oh, and Meph, Illinois has 9 wins. Just throwing that out there because it gives us that chance we need to play in Pasadena! =D>

A mediocre Clemson team just beat South Carolina.

SEC!

South Carolina is clearly one of the best SEC teams this season. That said, losing to a ranked Clemson team 23-21 is aboslute evidence that the SEC is an inferior football conference.
