What does everyone think about the possiability of OSU getting back into the NC Game?

Flip Mizzou and WVU and you'll have it. There is no way that West Virginia should be ahead of us right now.

Wasn't WVU already #3 and Missou #4?

Yeah, they were barely ahead of us in the BCS rankings. But we just beat the #2 team and WVU beat the #20 team. We're going to be at ranked number one. Wow, I can't believe I'm saying that.

Doubt it. We led in the 4th quarter of our first matchup this year, in Norman. If not for missed communication between Daniel and Maclin that led to a fumble inside our own 10 yard line, we probably would have won.

by that logic, Illinois should beat missouri then. I think that will be a good game and I wouldn't be surprised to see Missouri win.

i once again point to how dumb it is that the Big 10 is done already

I see your point but does anyone want to sit outside watching football in the upper midwest in December?

yes, the same people who go to see New England, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, the Giants, Cleveland, etc. in the NFL

UUMMN, don't people sit in Lambeau in December and January? It is football. I hate the whole have a month off thing. I think it cost the Buckeyes last year. You can't not play for 4-6 weeks and then play one game.

ok, those people are crazy. I don't see how two weeks would make much difference as far as the layoff though. I'd like to see a split division and championship though.

I think there is a big difference between a two week layoff and a 4-5 week layoff. 2 weeks lets you get rested and healthy. 4-5 gets you stale and gets you out of the habit of getting hit. Much like layoffs in Baseball, takes away your momentum.

i feel sick. UK has not beaten Tennessee in my lifetime. this was our best team in a while... i can't believe that FG was blocked. blah. lots of weird penalties and such, though.

That was one heck of a game. Both teams played great at different points and I was genuinely scared much of the second half that the streak would end.

Woodson really impressed me and I'm more certain now than ever that he and Ainge are two of the best QBs in the nation. There might be one or two better than them, but that's it.

The personal foul penalty crap in OT was absolutely horrific. If the refs were correct in their ruling, then the rule needs to be changed immediately. If they were wrong in their interpretation, they should be suspended immediately.

It's ridiculous that 3-4 seconds should make nearly ripping somebody's head off illeagally okay and tossing a football a few yards not okay. Either both personal fouls should have been administered or neither. The way it happened nearly screwed Tennessee in a great football game and that's awful.

And finally I've got to say it, Tennessee is going to the SEC Championship game. All those idiots calling for Fulmer's head are about to be shut up for quite some time. The road wasn't pretty at all at times (the blowout losses to UF and Bama and the loss to Cal), but the fact is we're one win away from an SEC Championship and a trip to the Sugar Bowl. And we're facing what has become a very beatable LSU team. They're still one of the most talented teams in the nation and could demolish us if they show up to play, but I'm not at all convinced they will.

Tennessee Volunteers - SEC East Champions baby! =D>

Yay the third best team in the SEC East got the bid to the title game. Oh well.

Our margin of victory over Georgia wasn't enough to make us second best? Too bad. :D

Doesn't matter to me how it happened, we have a shot at the SEC title and I fully believe we can beat LSU (though it's hard to say we will). Even if we don't win, it's a good step forward for this team - which will be much, much better next year if we can replace Ainge and find a consistent pass rusher.

Unfortunately for the 2008 Volunteers both Georgia and Florida look poised for National Championship runs in '08. They're both going to be preseason top fives and Florida's probably going to be the preseason number one.

The East is going to be ridiculously good next year. I tend to think we'll play very well, but likely finish third next year and then make a serious run in 09 after Tebow, Harvin, Stafford and Massoquoi are gone. That year, Eric Berry, Brent Vinson, Dennis Rogan, Lennon Creer, Gerald Jones, B.J. Coleman and quite a few others will just be hitting their junior year. By the way, every one of those players are freshmen this year and have shown they have immense potential (except Coleman who's redshirting, but Cutcliffe has compared his "football smarts" to Peyton).

I think we can beat one of UGA or UF next year, though. Probably UGA.

Agreed. The only conferences that don't need championship games are the Pac-10 and Big East.

Which of the five minutes that you lead that game was your favorite?

From Mgoblog.com (the same site that broke the Carr news days before anyone else, as well as many others but not as noteworthy). Take that Bill Conlin you no news breaking SOB.

I've sat on this a couple days waiting for some third-party corroboration and now I have it: Kirk Ferentz has been offered the Michigan job. The general feeling is he will turn it down out of fidelity to Iowa.

I don't have multiple sources on, so consider this not 100% reliable, but logical: Grand Valley's athletic director has been contacted by a Michigan representative doing due diligence on Brian Kelly.

Grand Valley's AD has been contacted by another athletic director doing background checks on Kelly. His name? Kevin White. His school? Notre Dame.

doesn't really matter if mizzou or wvu is #1 this week... if mizzou beats ou it's mizzou-wvu (the mountaineers will not lose to dave wannstedt); if mizzou loses then it's wvu-osu (barf)

If LSU is #4 after this week and right behind OSU maybe an impressive win over Tennessee will get the job done. If Kentucky would of won yesterday Georgia would of had a great chance of bouncing OSU with a win over LSU too.
