Pac-10 really wants UCLA to get that one seed

Gotta save some of that luck for the tourney. :? Just strange.

they're using up all their luck now...first the phantom foul on the block vs. stanford and now an over the backboard shot that falls...btw, when did they change the rule that you could shoot the ball up and over the backboard and it not be out of bounds?

The thing I can't believe is that they gave UCLA the ball after they hacked Anderson in the corner. I mean, you might be able to think that he wasn't fouled, but there's simply no way in the world he touched the ball last. Amazing shot by Shipp though.

That was a crime. I can live with the no-call on Shipp's shot with the rarity of that play, the moment and circumstances.

The call in the corner was just incredible though. Two straight games.

The refs did all they could to get Duke back in the game, but their shots wouldn't fall. A total phantom travelling call on a rebound/scrap for the ball that had Roy Williams nearly on the floor

21 and 9 for Harangody as ND completes its best-ever season in the Big East at 14-4 and locks up the 3 seed in the conference tourney. Unfortunately, due to Marquette's getting run by the Cuse, ND will still likely have to meet Marquette in the 2nd round of the Big East tourney. Bring 'em on.

Anybody know how the Big Ten tourney schedule works, TV wise? Basically, who plays at what time on Friday.

I can't wait to see the Illini go on to win this! :pig:

ESPN has all the tournament schedules: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/champweek2008/news/story?page=ncb_champweek2008#mvc

The early two Friday games are on ESPN, the latter two are on the Big Ten Network. Indiana will play in the evening session either at 6:30 as the No. 2 seed or 9 pm as the No. 3 seed. I'm concerned about today's game and wouldn't be surprised to see a loss and a slide to No. 3. Oh, Wisconsin will play the first game against the 8/9 winner, with Michigan State facing Ohio State in the second game.

Thanks. I knew the #1 always played 1st. Wasn't sure about the 2-3-4-5 seeds.

DePaul puts forth a very DePaulian effort in a 98  to 79 LOSS to Pitt, eliminating them from the Big East tourney picture and their season is over.

Good riddance Wes Green, Karron Clarke & Cliff Clinkscales. Bye to Draelon Burns, the only senior that is worth a damn.

Hopefully Dar Tucker and Mac Koshwal stay to help rebuild this program and also hope that Jerry Wainwright is sleeping with the fishes in Lake Michigan soon.

Jamarcus Ellis did not make the trip to Happy Valley due to "team disciplinary reasons". No huge shocker there, his attitude has been pretty bad since the Sampson firing.

Looks like IU finally decided to wake up, now up 46-38.

I could see us going one and done in the NCAAs. :?

We may as well self-impose a postseason ban right now and get it out of the way. It's quite obvious that Dan Dakich isn't going to be able to get this team back on track.

Thanks for knocking us into 8th against a Penn State team without Cornley.

I completely change my assessment of IU's chances in the NCAA's. Their guard play is just too dumb. Let's see, White can't be stopped and has 20 points on 8-10 from the field. But let's not pound it into him. Gordon goes 8-24, Bassett goes 3-13, Crawford 1-8 and they combine to have 13 turnovers.

12-45 shooting from your 3 guards with 13 turnovers while the best player in the conference can only get 10 shots against a bad frontcourt. They just look like a bunch of selfish chuckers without feel for the game.

Ellis's attitude was bad under Sampson. It's just gotten worse under Dakich.

Indiana has possibly lost its last game. I don't think that will be the case (I would expect a first round Big Ten Tournament win, if nothing else), but it wouldn't surprise me.

IU has no basketball IQ whatsoever. Don't pick IU to do anything in the tournament; perhaps one win. Man, I want to get back to recruiting Indiana-bred players. The Hoosiers have been a dumb team for at least the past five seasons.

Big Ten Tournament matchups are pretty much set now.

6 Minnesota vs. 11 Northwestern

7 Penn State vs. 10 Illinois

8 Iowa vs. 9 Michigan

4 MSU vs. 5 Ohio State

1 Wisconsin vs. Iowa/Michigan

If Purdue wins they'll be the 2 facing PSU/Illinois, Indiana will face Minnesota. Flip it around if Michigan beats Purdue today.

Yeah, I definitely don't see them getting past the 2nd round. They just seem to have so much worthless talent.

Penn State's guards went 7 for 34 if that makes you feel any better :D

I told my wife at one point, not that she cared, that DJ has missed 1 shot all game, wouldn't the logical thing to do be to get him shots? The team is completely not listening to Dakich. I also sense some resentment in the Dakich/McCallum relationship. It's just a horrible situation right now.

Ok, I just had to pop in and point and laugh at IU :rotfl: They will be lucky to win their 1st game of the NCAA tourney, and they sure as hell arent making it to the Sweet 16. All in all, this has been a pretty satisfying season from my perspective on IU basketball. Now lets hope IU and UI meet in the Big 10 tourney, and UofI wins.

It truly is. I'm not excited in the least for the rest of the season. Honestly, a big part of me is ready for this season to be over with, so a new coach (hopefully a good one) can be hired and the program can move on. I have little hope for the rest of this season, and even less for the next couple years. I just want the next hire to give me hope for the future.
