Just seems like that kind of year. And all the basketball experts will bash the Big Ten at every opportunity for "stealing" an at-large bid.

Michigan is not good. No way they beat Wisconsin. I could see a hot Ohio St. upsetting them though.

Ohio St. is barely better than Michigan. I think Purdue wins it all. They are young and athletic enough where they won't get tired playing 3 games in 3 days. They are in Indianapolis. Michigan St. could easily win it all if they could play 3 good games in a row. I don't know if they've done that all year.

Ohio State is coming off of huge wins vs Purdue and Michigan State. The best team Michigan beat was Ohio State.

I think Purdue could win it all and I hope they do.

in regards to the All-Big Ten teams...if Pruitt shoots 65% form the line instead of 55%, he probably averages a couple more points per game, Illinois wins 3 or 4 more games, and he ends up on at least the 2nd team

Huh, Gordon made first-team. How about that.

Anyway, I don't know what to think about the Big Ten Tournament -- probably that either all the favorites will win or it will be all upsets. I'm taking Indiana over Minnesota, but I'm not sure about that one at all. It's in Indy, so I'll go with that; though I wouldn't be surprised if IU has already won its last game. I'm also going to Friday's games, and hope not to see IU lose. I haven't been too impressed with Michigan State this year, but kind of expect them to put together a couple good games.

I'm not happy with the way Indiana's playing as a team right now, but I do think the bracket lines up well for them right now. They just beat Minnesota by 14 points last week even during the middle of their slump. I'm not saying Minnesota doesn't have a pretty decent chance of winning that game, they do. I'd just rather play them than play Illinois again.

Then in the semifinals, it's probably Purdue, and IU matches up much better with Purdue then either Wisconsin or Michigan State. That would be a really fun rematch.

Then who knows who they would face in a possible final game.

Mark me down for them losing on Saturday, but I think they have a much better chance of going to the final or winning the tournament then they would have if they were on the other side of the bracket.

Our only shot at a possible run was if IU had beaten PSU on Sunday. I like our chances against Michigan better than I would have against Illinois, but we had a much better shot against this recent IU team than Wisconsin. We took Purdue to the closing minute twice and I think Minnesota could get them.

Hopefully we get past Michigan tomorrow.

Agree completely. I wanted to avoid Illinois at all costs, and they've done that (at least until a potential Saturday matchup). Plus, IU matches up well with Purdue. It wouldn't stun me if IU is playing on Sunday, where it would've if they had to go through the top of the bracket. I just don't trust this IU team post-coaching change.

Huh, Gordon still makes the same mistakes he did in high school and really didn't show any improvement under Sampson and has been passed on many people's draft boards by Rose and Bayliss. Huh. Huh, Sampson lasted all of a year and a half, but really it was just illini fans bitching about nothing, huh.

I never said any big ten guys were better. I guess one could argue White was the MVP. But, still Gordon had a good year, but did he improve his draft standing or get any better this past year? I still think he did himself a disservice playing for Sampson.

i think he improved his draft standing by proving that he's the best player, as a freshman, in a major conference. jmo.

To be fair to Gordon, Rose, etc., Bayless really improved his stock.

He was a top 2 lock before this season started. Now Rose and Beasley for sure go before him and Bayliss probably does. I think he and O.J. Mayo hurt their draft prospects by playing college ball. I would probably take Mayo before him as well.

DJ White was the deserving POY. Gordon is certainly a fabulous talent, but he really didn't improve at all this season. I'm disappointed he is the exact same player making the exact same mistakes as in November. Though I do think his wrist injury was limited his ability.

i don't know why you'd take mayo over him, other than the obvious reason. they're like the same player, flip a coin. i'll take Gordon.

More ability to play the point, he is bigger, has a better handle, is a better defender, and I think he has shown the ability to make others around him better. I have yet to really see EJ demonstrate that.

he's not bigger and he's not a better defender, and he doesn't have a better handle. they're pretty equal across the board. furthermore, you're the one promoting DJ White as the best player in the big ten, but he's not better because of gordon?
