Bill Walker single handedly took KSU out of this game. I've never seen someone have such a horrid game. Disappointing. This team will lose it's 4th in a row vs KU saturday and be 8-6 in the conference with games remaining vs CU and at IU. Those are a MUST win to get to the tourney. What was a promising season has gone straight down the crapper.

Jim Les is slime.

I think the Hawkeyes have their own legal problems to be worrying about.

Hmmmm. So because I'm a fan of a football team with some idiots who have gotten in trouble, I can't comment on a basketball coach who is a weasel?

Well by that logic you shouldn't worry about Kelvin Sampson or anything at IU because of Illinois' legal problems.

You could easily beat us. We're playing terribly.

another good win for UT. KSU has been tough at home.

I'll take it, another good road win too. If they could have won just one of the two Big 10 games this year it would have been very impressive. Tech is tough at home too so they are not clear yet. Tonight was one of their worst FT shooting games of the year, but happy they out rebounded them.

How the hell did Texas lose to Mizzou? I'm trying to figure that one out.

As bad as Mizzou is, it's hard to beat any team who makes 40 3 pointers in one game.

59 points in the 2nd half for Mizzou did it. They shot 70% in the 2nd half and 60% for 3's.

Once they started making half court hook shots you knew it was their day. Now that I think about it, do players even take hook shots anymore?

Id like to hear your reasoning as to why Les is a weasel or slime.

Stories I've heard from a former UNI assistant about recruiting run-ins, stories from a current MVC assistant coach, his general perception around the Valley, and the way he handled Marcellus Sommerville and his dad.

Huge win over Bradley tonight as we just wore them down late in the 2nd half. And hey, that's back to back road wins for us!

5 wins in a row, and it sets us up for a showdown against ISU on Saturday night at the Arena for 2nd place in the Valley.

Hmm, I think Mizzou should try and do that every game.

as a louisville fan, i am much more concerned about georgetown than i am notre dame. not that i'm overlooking nd, but what i'm looking at is a combination of two things- nd's offense and our defense. other than seton hall, our defense has made good shooting teams look very bad. normally when our defense isn't there we don't win games (see seton hall) and we just beat pitt with our offense at pitt. other than bombing the hell out of the ball, i think louisville beats nd by 5. we are a very good home team when healthy and our two losses to dayton and cincy at home came when david padgett was out (vs. day) and on his second game back (vs. cin).

gtown concerns me more because they are going to have a second crack at us in a highly charged environment, senior day on the road. and seeing our shooting-forced-to-be-point guard edgar sosa in that arena scares me, and not in a good way. i think that we win vs. nd and villanova and a toss-up on the road at georgetown, it depends on how early padgett has to sit because of foul trouble and how terrance williams is playing that day.

if louisville wins out in the regular season, i say that we would have sewed up at least a 3 seed and if we make the big east semis we possibly get a 2. win it all, we definitely should get a 2 but i wouldn't be surprised if we end up with a 4- the ncaa has this strange obsession with underseeding us and sending us west.

I agree with you louky. I'm looking at Thursday's game as a probable loss for us - the good thing about it is that it's at L'Ville, so unless ND gets completely reamed, it won't be looked at as a bad loss. I think you definitely deserve at least a 3 if you win out, and if you hit the finals, you're definitely a 2. I'm not sure why the Cardinals are so underrated nationally (in particular, why ND is ranked ahead of them in the coaches' poll).

On the flip side, if ND wins the game and then beats the crap teams (DePaul, St John's and USF) to finish the season, that'd be 25-5 (15-3) and would have to be at least a 3, meaning the committee would probably give ND a 5 and ship them to the West Coast to play against the best 4-seed.

Either way, Thursday's game promises to be the best of the year in the Big East.

IU played less crappy than OSU tonight. There was a weird vibe all game long. The fans and players never got super excited. We completely stopped rebounding to let OSU back in the game. DJ had several mental lapses with his position in the zone and blocking out on the defensive boards. The non-Bassett Hoosiers shot 1-17 from 3pt range. Of course, the non-Gordon Hoosiers only turned the ball over 6 times. Someone needs to tell young Eric that the other team doesn't have to move out the way like the teams did in the non-conference. And when you run into them out of control and throw up an off balanced shot, the refs don't have to call a foul.

gordon is becoming a turnover machine. it's frustrating.

DJ still played hard, but i agree there were some defensive lapses. also, DeAndre Thomas is a train-wreck sometimes (often lately). they have absolutely nobody worthy of playing the four.

I'm curious to see how Bassett plays the rest of the year if Dakich is really encouraging him to be more aggressive. I definitely agree that should be his mentality. He hasn't been as aggressive as he was last year.

Yeah, Bassett's starting to look like the guy that averaged about 14 ppg after Feb 1 last year. I do think IU is getting a lot better performance from the 4 recently. Taber has played well defensively, and is a solid rebounder, screener and passer. Dre has been better since the Michigan St. game when DJ went out. Stemler, well, he's had his issues, but he's probably the safest bet to produce at this point. However, if he's not gonna knock down the 3, he has no purpose on the floor.

Gordon is simply not a good ball-handler. Hence, he should never attempt to split the double team. At this point, he is incapable of this and it leads to most of his turnovers. Also, driving recklessly towards the basket isn't good offense.

Thomas is pretty much always a train-wreck. IU is going to be miserable inside next year. Still love Bassett though. He's tough as nails and is a big shot maker.

Wow, Mizzou sucks. Just lost 75-73 to Oklahoma State at home even though Leo Lyons shot 12-13 from the field and scored 27. Joke.

Its tough to win when Ok State shoots 14-24 from 3 point land, including several prayers when the shot clock was expiring. Very frustrating loss. But pretty typical. Also, I don't think Mizzou is quite as bad as their record would indicate. They're definitely not good, but they probably should have two more wins right now. Of course that's probably what most bad teams say.
