Penn State was just plain bad without Claxton. Iowa didn't even play very well and still led by double digits for 35+ minutes and won by 15.

Freshman PG Jeff Peterson had 19 points, 5 assists and didn't miss a shot all night. 4-4 from the field, 2-2 from 3 and 9-9 from the free throw line. Cyrus Tate had 7 points, 13 boards and Seth Gorney had 11 points and 8 boards.

i'm disappointed in you.

You're just jealous of him

I know I am.

why? i'd be jealous of him if he had a picture of the top of her head, if you know what i mean...wink wink.

Anybody remember when Erin Andrews used to do ESPNews, like right when it started and she was not attractive at all?

And then somebody from ESPN stepped up and decided to fix her up; got rid of her glasses and turned her from super dork into what she is now.

I either don't remember this at all, or wiped it from my memory so only good memories of Erin remain. Although, dorks are hot...

Very impressive work, Flames.

Anyone see the GTown/WVU finish? Wow. Ewing Jr. blocks the game-winning layup attempt as time runs out. I love the Big East.

Except he didn't block it. He goaltended.

After seeing the replays, definitely a goaltend. I can't blame the refs too much for it though, I thought it was a goaltend on live action but I wasn't sure.

I thought it was a clean block live. It was funny though, because the WVU bench and the crowd were celebrating right away when they saw the block. Everyone saw it except the officials.

I love the Big East.

I certainly love their coaches' conference call.

Has anyone heard this? Some prank callers infiltrated the Bg East Coaches/Media conference call.

The questions are lame, but the moderator's dismay by the end is hilarious. Audio is here. NSFW.

Sorry if this is old as hell.

Yeah, that was a goaltend and Huggins had every right to be pissed.

I've got a question for the SIU fans here. I'm a Creighton fan and was at the game last night and my friends and I were wondering how that atmosphere compared to the typical home game. The crowd was impressive, especially when SIU did anything. It was a good trip to Carbondale, other than the whole going 12 minutes without a bucket to end the game part (other than the worthless Millard three).

The atmosphere for a typical home game is usually pretty good, but it's on a completely different level when Creighton is in town. The Indiana game this year had an atmosphere that was really impressive as well. When we went up by 4 late in the game and when Creighton turned the ball over under their basket, it was probably the loudest I've heard the place get in my year and a half here. It was pretty awesome.

And the refs are seriously doing everything they can to help Duke win this game. Just an awful, awful, awful call heading into the final media timeout.

Shaun Pruitt back for Illinois. Guess he's gonna be the good soldier and keep his mouth shut.

Did anything come out as to why he was suspended? Attitude problems?

Duke comes back to win by 9 as DeMarcus Nelson looked like a man among boys to finish with 27 points and 7 boards. He is having a great senior year, his first without injuries. the year hes having is making me wonder what could have been. Not only is he averaging 15 and 7 but he has done so while shutting down the other team's best perimeter player.

Real disappointing loss at home. First in the Sampson era. 29-straight comes to an end. We missed too many easy shots early and took to many tough ones when we weren't.

Two days later, i'm still pissed about this game. they really crapped the bed. ugh. sampson did not have them prepared. they looked completely lost most of the game, particularly defensively. I didn't have a good feeling before the game when I heard Sampson's pregame interview on the radio. He didn't seem to be taking the game too seriously and was more or less shrugging off this non-conference game that he felt had more to do with television ratings than anything else. It showed in his teams effort/preparation, imo.

DJ not being on with the mid-range jumper also hurt.

I've tried to give EJ the benefit of the doubt and try not to expect too much becuase he's a freshman. He's obviously been a great player overall. I was really disapointed Saturday though. That was really an oppurtunity for him to step up and take over a game and he just didn't do it. He was passing up oppurtunities regularly. If you're a top five NBA pick next year, you need to (at least attempt to) step up and take over that game. He was tentative as hell.

Could Purdue be the best team in the Big Ten?

I guess we'll find out when they face IU...and when they get that return visit from Mich. State.

You're joking, right? Purdue lost at home to Wofford and Iowa State. I don't think they're that good.

The Iowa State loss was in Vegas, not at Purdue.

Both of those losses also came during a stretch where they had five games in nine days coming off finals week. That's no excuse for losing to Wofford, but a young, inexperienced team is going to struggle from time to time. I'd rather have it happen then than during conference play. They're certainly not the best team in the Big Ten, but their ability to play defense is going to keep them in most ballgames. Of their five losses, only one - a 10-point loss to Missouri - has been by more than three points.

I thought I'd give a grace period afterwards, but was anyone else surprised at IU's decision to start fouling with 1:30 left while down only ~6. I understand UConn's not a great FT shooting team, but they kept sending the best shooter on the team to the line. 1:30 is way too early to start messing around with that IMO.

The other head scratcher was Sampson using the last timeout with ~1:20 left when they were just gonna foul Connecticut on the next play anyway.

I'd typically agree; but the only chance in hell IU had to maybe stop UCONN from scoring was to foul and hope they miss. God knows they couldn't stop them otherwise. Price would just wait until the 10-second mark and drive and dish over and over. Pretty pathetic really.

Wow....Syracuse has lost 2 starters to injury, lost a previous starter to grades, one back up for the season and just suspended another starter and we're down to 7 scholarship players. What a tough year so far.
