It sucks that our 2 most lackluster games this season have come against the only 2 tourney teams they have played.

That's why they were lackluster.

I will state now, though, we will beat Wisconsin. And that's gonna be with UW coming off a loss today at Purdue.

I don't think either of those things are happening.

Since Wisky has only lost two home games under Bo Ryan in conference play, and they both were to us, I don't see it happening either.

Not sure who to root for. I generally root for Indiana, but for seeding purposes, I'd like to see all the Big 10 powers (IU, MSU, UW) lose one more time just in case KU stumbles.

I don't see you losing more than 1. If any.

My years of being a Cub fan make me less optimistic. Wed will be tough at KSU. We could also lose at Texas. I should eat crow now RE: aTm. I said they were better than IU, and I was way off. I'm no longer worried about them. Baylor could surprise us.

KSU might get you, but I doubt it. They never beat you there. You aren't losing at home to anyone. Texas could beat you, but I can't see anyone out running and gunning you. I think you might lose one. For as bad as the Big 10 is, the Big 12 isn't too far behind.

Kansas is real good. Still take Memphis over them at this point, but there is clearly no other teams in the discussion right now for top 2. But either team can be beaten. Right now, both are beating teams who can't keep up with them athletically. KU's only close games have been with teams that can throw some athletes on the floor (Arizona, USC).

It's weird, it seems like the PAC 10 and Big East are the only conferences worth a damn.

Yep. ACC may only get 3. Only 3 in the conversation right now besides UNC/Duke. And BC has losses to Robert Morris, Providence, and last place, Virginia. Maryland beat UNC, but that was their only win vs. a tourney team, and they already have 7 losses, including to powerhouses like American, Ohio, and VCU at home. Clemson's not anything special and starting to show it.

In our defense, we were banged up in those games. ('Zona was Rush's 1st game back from knee surgery, USC his third. Collins didn't play in either of those.) The G-Tech game was close, but we controlled it the entire time and just let them slip back in toward the end.

I don't think Memphis can handle our bigs. I'd love to miss them, if possible. But I'd rather play them than UCLA. I'm worried about how tested we'll be by tourney time, though. Teams like Nebraska and CU are glorified practices.

LOL @ the Big Ten. A middle of the road Big East team beats the "best" big ten team...on the road...with two of their best players suspended.

Big Ten better hope for some good draws in the NCAA because they will be lucky to get 1 team to the 2nd weekend at this pace.

Wait who beat Michigan State?

Last I checked, Indiana had less losses before the game and was ranked higher.

Oh ya, and Iowa beat Michigan State.

And to whoever said Uconn was only missing "role" players and then goes on to say "well, the guy was their second leading scorer, but he's not important"

Come on now. Just admit that the Big 10 sucks as a whole.

Ball State chokes a 12-point halftime lead away, shoots 8/17 from the line, and loses on the road to Ohio, one of the best teams in the MAC. Infuriating.

I made the comment you are referring to, but I didn't say he wasn't important...I said he wasn't AS important as most of his team. Dyson's a solid player, but he's on a team with the top frontcourt, possibly in the nation and the top assist man in the conference. UConn would have been a lot worse off today had Price, Thabeet or Adrian missed the game instead of Dyson.

I agree. Obviously, he was an important piece of their team. However, if they were going to beat Indiana it was going to be because of their size advantage. I'm sure this will be labeled as a biased IU post, but the Hoosiers would've been much better off if Thabeet, Adrien, Robinson or Price were out. UConn's frontcourt was what could, and did, defeat Indiana.

Exactly. Just because he's 2nd on the team in scoring, doesn't mean he's the second most important. Crawford for IU is the 3rd leading scorer, but he is their 3rd best ballhandler, 4th best outside shooter, and isn't a difference maker in passing or rebounding the ball. Whereas, Ellis is 5th on the team in scoring, but is 2nd on the team in rebounds and leads the team in assists. He also typically plays good defense against bigger players.

Dyson is 2nd on UConn in scoring, but he's 3rd on the team in assists, he leads the team in turnovers, and he's 4th in 3-pt shooting. He's not particular good on D either, IIRC.

Even though this has been a highly disappointing year, I'm still really pumped up for Gameday. Heading over to the Arena in a little bit and I'll make sure I get some good pictures for the two or three of you that care about SIU

We better win tonight, no home loses on national TV, please.

Mizzou was down 11-0 to start the game, then was down 14 in the second half, and now with 2 minutes left they are down 1. They'll lose by 7.

They actually won a damn game. Shocking.

Wisconsin should have really got that foul call at the end, but trying to drive in and get a foul on the road in the final 10 seconds is never a great idea. Good win for Purdue.

I agree that it was a foul. That's no gaurentee of a win though. Good game by Purdue. Badgers certianly had their chances.

1/2 right so far. For all the talk about IU not looking like a top team, UW hasn't shown much outside of beating Texas on the road. They lost at home vs. Marquette, who is a good team. But they also struggled to beat Michigan by 3 this week at home in addition to being tied after 24 minutes at home vs. Iowa, being tied at halftime at home vs. NW, and being up just 3 at home vs. U of I at the 10 minute mark in the 2nd half.

Could Purdue be the best team in the Big Ten?

I guess we'll find out when they face IU...and when they get that return visit from Mich. State.

You're joking, right? Purdue lost at home to Wofford and Iowa State. I don't think they're that good.

Nor do I, but it sure doesn't seem like you have to be that good to be the best team in the Big Ten, and Purdue's 6-1 in league play, the 1 being a 3-point loss at Michigan State when Robbie Hummel had the flu and didn't play (and Purdue should have won that game).

We're looking pretty good. Hope we don't have a letdown Wednesday vs KU. Would be a nice time for our first win over them in Bramlage. I'm glad I got to come back to Kansas for this one.
