my roommate decided to go to the psu-wisconsin game. he better not complain about how bad penn state played when he gets home. it happens every time he goes, psu does the same crap they always do (lots of bricks, bad defense, turnovers) and then he comes back and complains about how much the team sucks. i told him that all year and told him before tonight's game. when you go watch those losers, you should know what you're getting.

UK is getting better. they really need jasper and meeks to get healthy. patterson, bradley, and crawford can't do everything. they almost pulled it out tonight in starkville, though. the refs were pretty bad from what i saw.

Well, it's early, but the Mizzou team that I've grown to hate for being awful at basketball is back tonight.

Dear Mizzou basketball,

Next time, just lose the game to Texas. It's a waste of everyone's time to actually win games. Because, in the end, the wins don't matter at all.

This is just vintage Mizzou basketball. Unbelievable.

Top 25 struggling tonight. Dayton loses solidly at home to a pretty good UMass team. Xavier gets pounded on the road at mediocre Temple. Duke pulls out one vs. FSU. UNC in a battle vs. GT.

Mizzou outshoots ISU from the field, from 3 Point land, and outrebounds them, but a 20 foul shot differential makes the difference and Mizzou loses by 5.

ISU winning the turnover battle 17-10 helped as well. I though Missouri was a terrible match-up Iowa State this year, since Missouri runs a press and Iowa State has been horrible against teams like that for a while (see Drake). They cut down on careless turnovers tonight, and finally had more than one player per night step up on offense. They still can't hit a 3 (1-16 tonight), and they really need to stop shooting that many and pound it down low where they have a size advantage on almost everyone. Oklahoma State is next, another game they can win @ home, and then @Kansas, where keeping it within 20 would be good.

Mizzou loses by 5. What a joke. And people wonder why no one shows up to games. Kansas is going to beat us by 70.

Deja Vu.

Hey Illinois won a game!! YAY!!!

And I don't think DeChelis gets fired after this season.

Illinois looks better with McCamey at the point. He sees the court better. I was also wrong about Weber, he shook all of the Michigan kid's hands.

Dang, the Jackets had a perfect chance there to pull it off.

I really think Carolina is a step below Kansas, Memphis, and UCLA. They don't guard anyone.

I agree. I think we'd kill them. The only teams that scare me are UCLA and Memphis. That's not to say those are the only teams that can beat us. I think we'll lose 1 or 2 games before the tourney. But UCLA and Memphis are the only 2 I'd love to avoid in the tourney.

I don't know if anyone can kill them because they score so damn many points. But as of right now I think you guys beat them. Is there any chance that the four 1 seeds end up anyone besides KU, Memphis, UCLA, and UNC? I really can't remember a year when they were all so clear.

UNC is thoroughly unconvincing on defense, esp when compared to KU, Memphis and UCLA.

I agree with both your points. I think defense knocks UNC a step below the other three, and think UNC, UCLA, Kansas and Memphis are basically mortal locks for the four top seeds.

Yeah, I think those are the 4. Memphis may be undefeated going into the tourney, with their conference. KU will lose a few times, but unless someone pulls off an upset and wins the conference, they will be a 1. UNC has a pretty easy road in the ACC, as I think they are much better than the 2nd place team, Duke. UCLA has a tough conference, so they may be the only one in jeopardy of not getting a #1 seed. Of course, if they don't win the Pac10, WSU will probably win it and be the #1.

Only other shots are MSU or IU (if one romps thru the Big Ten), Georgetown (who has already lost at Pitt in a tough conf.), and Duke or Texas (if one dominates the non-UNC/KU part of their conf.).
