like i said in the bruce weber thread...i'm considering not even making the trip up to see them get spanked by purdue now.

Purdue lost to Wofford. This loss sucks. It really sucks. But we'll probably win 20 games still. Tourney's done for though which is really sad. Just work on developing DMac, Tisdale, and Davis.

If you win 20 games that will mean you're 12-6 in the Big Ten and probably finish 3rd or at least 4th.

I definitely don't see you going 12-6 in the Big Ten, but if you think you'll still win 20 then the tournament isn't done.

I bet we struggle to get 15 wins.

Purdue also beat a ranked Louisville team. When your starting five most games consists of four freshman and a sophomore(although they've changed up the starting five recently), you're going to struggle at times. They have quite a bit of talent, but they are going to have their ups and downs this season.

The loss to Wofford was bad though, no question about that.

Wasn't trying to insinuate that Purdue would be a walk because of that. Just saying that Purdue had its bad loss too. I think the game in West Lafayette is a toss up and that we should win at home. But you hit it on the head, that it pretty much depends on what Purude team shows up. They're going to be really good in a couple years.

Winning 20 games (I had 11-5 +1 in the tourney, Pomeroy has us at 10-8) with how awful the Big 10 is this year is pretty much a lock to miss the tourney.

Being a Purdue fan, my biggest concern is how Johnson will develop. The kid needs to put on weight badly. At 6'11, 210 pounds, he's going to get pushed around during conference season. I think Martin (if he can cut back on the fouls), Hummel, and Moore will be very good players in a year or two.

Purdue has a nice coach in place. They are gonna be back to a basketball powerhouse very shortly. Big Ten probably has the best coaching top to bottom. Unfortunately, they may have the worst recruiting of the major conferences.

I'll go out on a limb and say Purdue will be a tourney team out of the conference, along with IU, MSU, UW and O$U.

Unless Minnesota surprises, we're only getting 4.

Wow. Didn't realize how many losses Purdue had already. Still, I think 19-20 wins can get a team in out of the Big Ten, provided at least 2 of the conference wins are IU, MSU, Wisc, or Ohio St....and 1 of those probably has to be on the road.

ND downs North Florida 77-58. 10-2 non-conference record with Big East play starting on Thursday against West Virginia.

Ball State's Worst Season Ever Watch - the Cardinals finally, at long last, win. BSU 69, IPFW 62 in the first game back for Anthony Newell, who scores 18 and adds 7 boards. But the story is 5th-year senior Peyton Stovall, who tallies a career-high 37 points and a career-high 5 steals to go with 4 assists and 9 rebounds to move into the top 20 all-time in scoring at BSU. Great day in Muncie.

Xavier kicked our collective ass tonight. Beasley had one point when my TV switched to PS3 Mode with 3 mins left in the game. Way too many freshmen mistakes tonight paired with horrible coaching led to an absolute ass kicking.

Penn State closes out the non-con 8-4 (8-0 at home). 3 of those 4 losses were at the Old Spice tourney. Geary Claxton continues being a beast, scoring 29 points with 10 boards and shooting 8 for 10 (3 for 3 from range) in the 1st half. With the Big 10 being really down, I can see PSU winning 6-8 games in conference this year.

You have more confidence in the Illini than I do. Traditionally, we don't play well in Mackey Arena and I see no heart nor killer instinct with the team. Any late, close games on the road coupled with piss-poor FT shooting spells a loss. I think we lose in W. Lafayette and Columbus and Ann Arbor and......

Yeah, I am preparing myself for an really ugly B10 season.

It will be different, but in a couple years the Illini should be back near or on top.

Well stage 2 is now upon us regarding playing conference games. It's a new chance at life for a lot of teams and starting with a clean slate may help your boys.

Yay! Conference season starts tonight. I'd like nothing more than to beat Iowa (who I despise!) by 25 points. Road wins in the Big Ten are tough to come by, but despite going 2-6 on the road last year, I'd like to think IU can beat all the non-tourney teams in their building ala Ohio St. and Wisconsin last year. Win out at home. Beat the teams they should on the road, and should coast thru the conference and at worst get a 3 seed.

God am I ready for the conference play to start. As much as I'm glad IU got away from the obscenely difficult pre-conference schedule they had a few years back, this year was almost too easy, IMO. Boooring... I'm ready to see some real games, particularly on the road.

3 out of 4 to start. I like that all are winnable, but will be a good test for a team that has only played 1 true road game to this point.

Really? Well we have taken 5 of the last 6 against you.

Tonight will be ugly. We lost our best post player for the year on Saturday night which means our already thin and weak frontcourt will be in trouble against White. Looby is a solid shot blocker but his back is bothering him again. Angle will have to play more minutes now, but he can't play defense. Freeman will probably be matched up on Gordon and can hopefully keep him under 20.

Our only chance of keeping it within 15 is to keep the pace slow, limit turnovers and hope we're hot from the outside. Plus with how bad we are, it's an 8 p.m. start and all of the students are gone, we probably won't have more than 10,000 in attendance so homecourt advantage won't be that great.

Is Ratliff playing?

I thought they were moving the 3-point line back this year?

I think that's before next year.

I think we have a better chance of loosing 11 conference games than winning 11 conference games.

surprisingly entertaining game in Evanston with NU up by 1 over PSU at the half. Geary Claxton and Jamel Cornley might both get looks in their NBA draft years (amazing for PSU).

Iowa up 42-39 with about 5 minutes gone in the 2nd half. Wow. Lickliter is simply the better coach, hands down.

Thats awesome. Go Hawkeyes ewwww

I've actually cheered for Purdue before so I hear ya.

47-44 Hoosiers with 12 minutes left. We might survive this one but yeah I'm not all that impressed.
